Most commonly used EDM effects?
here's some stuff I've synthsized / made whatever that will help with downers and risers, gotta a hall kick in there, some analog white noise, some digital white noise (ud probably like Whorse_White Noise 128BPM.wav for edm), some other things too snare build ups, and a couple synth build ups.
http://grahamphisher.com/downloads/downersrisers.zip
there pretty raw to so you can add your own fx processing, mess around with low n high pass filters, phasers on noise, just simple 4x4 sidechain to get a pumping effect.
i think the best way to do it tho just take synth like in the video on top, change the pitch bend value to 6-12, and have it just rise up over 8 to 16 bars.

Where is the very first place that new music is accessible to the public????
for hip hop, http://virdiko.com/
not all but a good majority of it (even some mainstream b4 it touches social media or itunes), good dj pool for getting the jump on new releases to be the first remix or isolate vocals to catch that initial wave of "web traffic" to gain notoriety
another alternative http://djservicepack.com/
I don't know about any other dj pool's for other genres.
I do know tho there are certain publicists / pr people you can get in touch with that exclusively send stuff out to companies that film commercials and what not b4 its released, thats a circle you have to / can brown nose your way into tho.
(another thing to look for remix contests on beatport, u can usually find hq wav files of tracks tht are un-released including their stems also in wav format. this route really only applies to techno and edm tho... mostly*)

thanks, yea when it comes to techno (not edm which is like the other track I posted "Into You" http://equipboard.com/forums/dj-electronic-music/topics/work-in-progress ),
I try to keep the vibe old school, I grew up on techno from artist like frankie bones, this track influenced me a lot
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlF5YVk7qNM
say what do u think of this one? i put this one out right after "invert", its more dark, psychedelic pads /atmos n stuff...

thanks, yea i totally get that, this isn't my taste either when I'm sober, I mean rolling at a rave or drunk yea the over energizing music like this is cool, but like day to day I'm more into ambient, relaxed, music or techno like drumcode / truesoul (nice background energy). been listening to sasha's new cd "Scene : Delete" lately, he brought back the Airdrawndagger style after all the invovler compilations.
here's the final, finished mixing n mastering and all that.

"DUBRMX present's "Into You" from artist WHORSE ? a 128 BPM (G#) house track. Going in a lighter direction than some of his more recent releases, "Into You" features soulful stabbing vocal cuts, a giant future house drop, and a symphony of analog gear delivering the most pure leads and deep bass."

I like 3x osc, take it down to like octave 2-3 on default settings, you'll get some really nice thick sub.
on the subject of using presets, I think it can be healthy for a new producer at first, i had a "internet friend", that despised using presets, and shamed me for using them, but with my background in art and design I felt like its ok to use templates just as long as you study them, play with them, break them and ect, and over time I learned how to create my own patches/presets, whatever, about 80+ of the patches stored on my bass station 2 are were synthesized by me.
Anyways today hearing his soundsets today, they suck! (sorry) he missed out on seeing lots of lil tricks that other sound designers used. point being its ok to have help just as long as you study the help n become it.
just a side note, check out xfer's serum, its a very visual based synth that can help you learn how to program many synths.

Not trying to be self promoting or anything like that, I never post any of my other tracks on here, but I thought this would be a "neat" share. since like 90% of the trap today is soft synth based.
for this im using the tr-909/808, ms20, bs2, minitaur, analog delay pedals, and so on.
drop isn't really until like 1:30

Idk if these kinda posts are allowed but I recently made top 50 outta 1000's of submissions on Spinnin Record's talent pool, would be nice to get a lil extra support if possible

What makes a song psychedelic?
track I did that has a lotta the stuff im explaining in it... (done with a lotta analog equipment, and a rompler for the piano / guitar soundin chords.)
https://soundcloud.com/dubrmx/whorse-opiate-original-mix
Spaced out plucks and chords put into a random short timed delay with light feedback ran into another well medium timed delay with stronger feedback that syncs with the beat
also speaking on delay adjusting the time setting from up to down live to get that pushed out than pulled back in vibe which you can hear on sasha's involv3r which is pretty trippy. Most digital delays do a shit job at this, wave's h delay does it ok but most analog delay pedals u can get that.
slow tremeloated lfo's that control filters for a wah wah effect.
running percussion into a wild delay than putting a phaser on top for a watery splashy or pulled from the mud effect
pitching up over a decent amount of time like 8-16 bars
single shot sounds with a reverb with a ridiculously long decay reverb every 4-32 bars.
switching up your chords up into triplets (1/3) after playing them reg for a while.
a vocal loop (usually like to vocode mine all wet so it sounds like the synth is talking but I just make it real subtle.)
this may be just my taste, brick walled bass that really makes a lotta people feel the bass with most modern headphones.

Izotope Giving Away Free Delay
FREE delay from Izotope with some pretty decent live time manipulation (not as good as Waves H Delay, sounds kinda artificial / emulated though) , a distortion effect, and a second delay which sounds really nice if you activate the stereo imaging (the wide button). 5/5
Download https://www.izotope.com/en/products/effects-instruments/ddly-dynamic-delay/
Demo I did. https://www.facebook.com/100009653190902/videos/245914072407031/?l=7889123872221710879
