Someone on here once asked how he could improve his mixes- and since it's such a broad question I tried to answer as best I could in this viedo I made.
I'd almost forgotten about it but maybe it'll be of some help-

"As far as what enspires me and what I listen too, that's a wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide variety lol. I listen to almost every type of music you can imagine. But when I want to feel enrgy I listen to a lot of electronic music artist like Above and Beyond, Jeremy Olander, Tiesto, Aruna, Deadmau5, Ferry Corsten, Ferrin & Morris, Super 8 & Tab, ThermalBear, Walden, and many others."
Gotcha-
Well the go-to DAW's for EM seem to be FL Studio, Ableton, and Logic (to a lesser degree).
For me the nonliniar workflow of Ableton really suits EM more than say Logic or ProTools. The way that Ableton page I sent you to was a mini demo of how Ableton works. You can create a ton of clips and then shuffle them around and it really lends itself to the loop based nature of EM (and just about all popular music for that matter) in a fun and super easy way. You can of course also record linearly (traditional).
I'm a MAC guy so I never got into FL Studio so I can't compare but I've heard loads of good things- I have used ProTools & Logic for ages and I'm never goin' back except for mixing.
It all comes back to 1st things 1st tho -
You'll need a DAW to get started. Is there one that appealed to you?
8yover 8 years ago
Ok, that helps. So are you writing your own songs now but don't yet have a DAW / multitrack recorder?
I ask because just about all you really need to get started is a DAW / Multitrack reording device & a pair of headphones. I'm a commited Ableton user but there are loads of options and all can do the job well.
Step up from there? I'd say a audio interface, monitors, and maybe a MIDI controller of some kind (keyboard, Ableton Push, Machine, etc.)
If I get the jist of your question right tho you're interested in what other producers use as well?
I'd say the best way to find that kinda thng out is (besides on here) check out YouTube channels.
FACT Agaist The Clock, etc.
there you can see not just what a particular arist uses but also how they approach a blank slate, what plugins or hardware they use, etc.

Well I don’t know what your background in music is but I’m guessing maybe not a ton so I would suggest starting here:
https://learningmusic.ableton.com/index.html
it'll walk you thru a lot of basic fundamentals in a super intuitive way.
Most of the music people enjoy isn't difficult to create & the tools now are extreemly powerful- which leads me to...
As for equiptment (basics) you'll likely want a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation i.e. Ableton, FL Studio, Logic, Protools, etc.) Most offerings will have a free limited version for you to get your feet wet. I strongly suggest that you don't worry too much about what DAW you get. They all do similar things it’s just a matter of preference of workflow and that's something you can’t now until you’ve had some experience.
I'd be happy to share how I (& likely many, many others) work on & play music if that's helpful (what I use, how I start a new track, how I arrange & mix, etc). I'll have better answers for ya when I know more about where you are musically, what you like/inspires you, etc.
That's a great starting place. Let us know if you found any of that helpful & feel free to drop any ither questions you might have.

Isn't Gibson into them for a ton too?

check out the articles here on DAW's, monitors, mics, synths, you name it!
That's a big question you've asked but if ya got particular questions after browsing those articles, etc. just drop a note.
If electronic music is your bag a background in tech can't hurt!

Behringer tease 11 new synths/drum machines (Synthi?!)
I'll believe it when i see it. Their weird press teases used to get me to perk up my ears but with the Model D clone still not avilible it's unclear how much they actually plan to do.
and how many if you have seen a DeepMind in the wild? I've never seen one outside of demo videos & Guitar Center (and we know the state of GC & that market?) What's that say about the market for a Behringer Synthi?
anyway...
Here's just a few off the list:

Carl Sagan/Voyager recordings released
some follow up details:
The making of, etc
Many people were instrumental in the design, development and manufacturing of the golden record. Blank records were provided by the Pyral S.A. of Creteil, France. CBS Records contracted the JVC Cutting Center in Boulder, Colorado to cut the lacquer masters which were then sent to the James G. Lee Record Processing center in Gardena, California to cut and gold plate eight Voyager records. Gold plating took place on August 23, 1977; afterward, the records were mounted in aluminum containers and delivered to JPL. The record is constructed of gold-plated copper and is 12 inches (30 cm) in diameter. The record's cover is aluminum and electroplated upon it is an ultra-pure sample of the isotope uranium-238. Uranium-238 has a half-life of 4.468 billion years. The records also had the inscription "To the makers of music – all worlds, all times" hand-etched on its surface.

To be fair tho-Loopmasters dominated 2017. If I remember correctly they had the top 2 highest selling packs of the year. I hear it everywhere-the "future" series in particular- from Soundcloud bedroom producers to Kendrick Lamar, etc.
So I just guessed maybe "free" was gonna figure in a bunch since it seems Loopmasters has just about every other base covered.
The OP might also wanna check out the free app "Who Sampled"
Works just like Shazam but lists all samples & their sources or you can just search any song.
Also works in reverse- say if you wanted to know everyone who has sampled a particular Diana Ross cut, etc.
