Awesome speakers and awesome sound. Big but not overly done bass, clear mids, and accurate top-end. I bought these as my second reference, but I now find myself doing a lot more work on them. Great translation, and a very honest representation makes these a no-brainer.
Danish engineering at it's finest. Beautiful open mids, present bass, and silky top make these the go-to's for many pro's. I heard them A,B'd against a pair of Adam A7Xs, and had to pull the trigger.
Being that this EQ is a parallel unit ,it's hard to make it really sound EQ'd or fake. Perfect for Mix buss sweetness, or for bringing the life back into a dark source. Although it might seem subtle at first, put the bypass in, and you'll wish you hadn't.
Wow, for the price you get pure greatness. This is a G-Buss clone that honestly sounds the same, has a better feature set, and costs less than half the price. A Blend knob, 2-selectable HPF frequencies, an external side chain, and a THD knob! Nothing else at the price sounds, or offers the same. A must have for anybody thats looking for "The Glue".
This little guy kicks ass on just about everything, and definitely imparts a sonic character throughout. Its does slow, fast, clean, dirty, and everything in between. The THD button is an awesome feature, and Log release is super unique. Class A completely discrete!
I've owned this plugin for roughly 3 years, and use it on every mix. I recently purchased a hardware 550b and can confidently say that Waves has gotten very close. Demo it, use it, and see why everybody goes crazy over these things!
This EQ rocks, and delivers on almost every source. I shot it out with an API 560, SSL E Series(black), and a RND 551. The 550b won 9/10 times. I'd recommend it every time, and I'm actually about to purchase another for Stereo use.
I bought this unit as my first 500 series rack, and I'm loving it. At first glance, the weight on this thing is deceiving as it is built like a tank. Great build quality overall, and no shortage of power with all 6 slots powered, and passing audio. Great job VK!
I've had both a Twin, and a rack mount Apollo. Now, both are amazing but the new gen Apollo 8's are just killer. The Unison pre's allow for a wide tonal pallet, and amazing versatility with such a small footprint. Besides the fact that they sound almost identical to their hardware counterparts, the space factor makes this unit a no-brainer. If your running high end preamps already then an Apollo 16 might work better. If your considering buying one, do yourself a favor and stop waiting.
