At the Gates is a renowned Swedish metal band, recognized as a pivotal force in the development of melodic death metal. Originating from Gothenburg in 1990, the group initially comprised Tomas Lindberg (vocals), Anders Björler (guitar), Jonas Björler (bass), Adrian Erlandsson (drums), and Alf Svensson (guitar). Over the years, Martin Larsson replaced Svensson on guitar, solidifying the lineup that would go on to produce seminal albums like Slaughter of the Soul.
