About

Fight is a metal band formed in the early '90s by legendary vocalist Rob Halford after his departure from Judas Priest. Originating from the United States, the group initially included Scott Travis (drums), who also played with Judas Priest, along with Russ Parrish (guitar), Brian Tilse (guitar), and Jay Jay (bass). Known for their blend of metal, hard rock, groove metal, and heavy metal, Fight marked a departure from the classic metal sound of Halford's previous work, embracing a more aggressive and contemporary thrash-oriented style.

How to Sound Like Fight

Fight's sound is characterized by its intense, aggressive guitar riffs and thrash-inspired energy. The band's sonic palette is both heavy and sleek, channeling a raw, unfiltered vibe. Guitars like the Fender Stratocaster and Gibson Explorer deliver searing, high-gain tones, amplified by the likes of a Peavey 5150 II, known for its powerful distortion and sustain. Halford's vocals, captured through a Neumann U 87, add a distinct clarity amidst the heavy instrumental backdrop. Drum work by Scott Travis, played on a DW Collector Series Custom Drum Set, reinforces the band's relentless drive with precise, thunderous beats. These elements combined create a fierce and commanding sound, perfect for those seeking to channel the ferocity and energy of '90s metal.
