About
Free Kitten is an avant-garde noise rock band that emerged from New York City in 1992, blending elements of noise rock, riot grrrl, and queercore. The group is a collaborative effort by Kim Gordon (bass, vocals) from Sonic Youth, Julia Cafritz (guitar, vocals) from Pussy Galore, and later joined by Yoshimi P-We (drums, trumpet, harmonica, vocals) from the Boredoms. Mark Ibold (bass) from Pavement also contributed to the lineup. Known for their experimental and raw sound, Free Kitten offers a unique musical experience that challenges the conventions of rock and punk.
