About

Giant is an American rock band originating from Nashville, Tennessee, known for their powerful blend of hard rock, glam metal, and melodic hard rock. Formed by the talented Dann Huff (vocals, guitar) and his brother David Huff (drums), the band was completed with Alan Pasqua (keyboards) and Mike Brignardello (bass). Giant gained recognition in the late 1980s with their debut album Last of the Runaways, featuring the hit single "I'll See You in My Dreams." Their music is characterized by soaring vocals, intricate guitar work, and a polished, arena-ready sound.

How to Sound Like Giant

Giant's sound is defined by dynamic, melodic guitar lines and lush keyboard arrangements, complemented by a powerful rhythm section. Dann Huff's use of the Fender Stratocaster and James Tyler Studio Elite creates a versatile tonal palette, from clean, shimmering chords to searing, high-gain solos. The incorporation of effects like the Vertex "Landau Mod" Arion Stereo Chorus adds a rich, textural layer to their sound. Amplified through a Peavey 5150 120-Watt Head, the band's music achieves a bold, resonant depth, ideal for their anthem-like compositions. The combination of these elements results in a sound marked by clarity and power, embodying the quintessential characteristics of late '80s and early '90s rock.
