The guitar has been used on two tours, the 2014 rewind tour, and the 2015 riot tour. It also made a appearance in the music video for rascal flatts 2015 single “riot”. On the two tours it appeared on, it was used on the songs “these days” and “riot”. During the last night of rascal Flatts 2015 Vegas riot residency, It was used on “kickstart my heart” with Vince Neil from Mötley Crüe on vocals.

On August 12, 2020, Michael Bolton posted a photo on his official Facebook page where he is seen holding a James Tyler Guitars USA Studio Elite HD, thereby confirming his use of this specific guitar model.

In a Premier Guitar Rig Rundown video, Shawn Tubbs showcases his James Tyler Studio Elite, an S-style guitar featuring JT 2250 single-coils and a JT Super Bridge, crafted by renowned California builder James Tyler.

At the 18:43 mark in the YouTube video titled "Every Guitar I Own" by Michael Nielsen - Big Hairy Guitars, Michael Nielsen clearly shows his James Tyler Studio Elite guitar.

Lao Wu owns several James Tyler guitars. His Studio Elite Burning Water was completed on August 29, 2005, and was reported to have been purchased by Lao Wu in China on September 1 of the same year. It was reported that Lao Wu had been searching for a guitar that suited his needs for a long time, and this guitar helped him complete that search. This guitar was used on Tang Dynasty's third album Romantic Knight, notably on the song Pathway, as revealed here at 1:03.

Lao Wu praises James Tyler guitars for what he deems their excellent tonal response, particularly from the 3rd and 4th strings. He believes that James Tyler guitars best reflect Chinese cultural values of moderation and balance. He can be seen playing a James Tyler guitar at the beginning of this video, using his signature "Split-Brain" hybrid picking approach that draws upon Chinese folk music.
