About
Insecure Men is a British musical group formed in 2015 by Saul Adamczewski (vocals, guitar), previously of Fat White Family, and his schoolmate Ben Romans-Hopcraft (bass, backing vocals). The band melds influences from exotica, easy listening, lounge, and timeless pop music to create a unique soundscape that draws listeners into a world reminiscent of suburban nostalgia and whimsical escapism. The lineup also features Marley Mackey (lap steel), Victor Jakeman (organ), Joe Isherwood (keyboards), Alex White (saxophone), and a mysterious vibraphonist known as Steely Dan, with Jack Everett (drums) anchoring their dynamic performances.
How to Sound Like Insecure Men
Insecure Men’s sound is characterized by a dreamy, layered texture that often feels both nostalgic and otherworldly. Their music relies on a collage of warm, analog tones and exotic instrumentation, creating an atmosphere that’s both laid-back and richly immersive. The use of instruments like the Williams 700 Series Pedal Steel adds a distinctive twang that complements the mellow, lounge-inspired vibes. The addition of synthesizers and keyboards, possibly enhanced with effects like the Electro-Harmonix Mel9 Tape Replay Machine, helps to craft their ethereal soundscapes. Through a combination of lush harmonies and understated rhythms, Insecure Men creates a sonic experience that’s simultaneously nostalgic and refreshingly innovative.
