Splender is a pop rock and grunge pop band hailing from New York City, formed in 1990. The group was founded by Waymon Boone (guitarist/vocalist/songwriter) and James Cruz (bassist). After undergoing several lineup changes, they solidified their ensemble with Marc Slutsky (drums) and Jonathan Svec (lead guitar). Splender's sound is characterized by a blend of emotionally charged lyrics and catchy pop rock melodies, drawing influence from both alternative rock and grunge elements. The band gained recognition with their debut album, Halfway Down the Sky, which featured notable tracks like "Yeah, Whatever" and "I Think God Can Explain."
