About
Stone Fury was a glam metal and arena rock band known for their blues-infused hard rock sound. Formed in Los Angeles in 1983 by Lenny Wolf (vocals), who moved from Hamburg, Germany, and Bruce Gowdy (guitar), the group also included Rick Wilson (bass) and Jody Cortez (drums). Their music, reminiscent of Led Zeppelin, featured powerful vocals and intricate guitar work. Despite their promising start with albums like Burns Like A Star and Let Them Talk, Stone Fury struggled to achieve mainstream success in the USA, leading to their eventual disbandment.
How to Sound Like Stone Fury
Stone Fury's sound is characterized by dynamic, blues-based hard rock elements intertwined with the theatricality of glam metal. Their music combines soaring, emotive vocals with layered, melodic guitar riffs that evoke both intensity and elegance. The guitars often utilize overdriven amplifiers for that classic rock crunch, while the drums, anchored by Jody Cortez, provide a robust, rhythmic backbone. For those looking to emulate their style, a Tama Crestar Drum Set can offer the punchy, precise rhythms that underpin their tracks, while Zildjian cymbals add a shimmering, expansive quality to their sound. Stone Fury's music thrives on the interplay of melodic and rhythmic elements, crafting anthemic rock tracks with a dramatic flair.
