About
Twisted Sister is a legendary American rock band hailing from the vibrant glam rock scene of New York City in the early 1970s. Formed in 1972 by guitarist Jay Jay French, the band solidified its classic lineup with Dee Snider (vocals), Eddie "Fingers" Ojeda (guitar), Mark "The Animal" Mendoza (bass), and A.J. Pero (drums). They achieved mainstream success with their 1984 album Stay Hungry, featuring iconic hits like "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock."
How to Sound Like Twisted Sister
Twisted Sister's sound is defined by its aggressive and energetic character, with roaring guitar riffs and a commanding vocal delivery. The band's music is both melodic and hard-hitting, creating a dynamic and electrifying atmosphere. Guitars play a pivotal role in shaping their sound, often utilizing the raw power of instruments like the Ibanez Destroyer combined with the searing crunch of a Marshall JMP 2203 Mk II Master Lead 100w amp head. The bass lines, provided by Mark Mendoza, add a gritty depth, anchoring the high-octane tracks, while the drums deliver a thunderous and relentless drive. This combination of elements ensures that Twisted Sister's music remains as explosive and captivating as ever.
