Fan-F**king-Tastic!!!

Once again, Behringer knocked it out of the f**king park! It's only been 4 days, but this is one of my very favorite drum machines thus far! It sounds great, feels good, and is loads of fun to program! I can't wait to make some new records with this thing!!

Love this MPC!!!

I've been using MPCs since the MPC-60II, and this, by far, is my very favorite model!

A Dream Come True!!!

I'm a huge fan of Kurtis Mantronik and his use of the Roland TR-909 on records by his group Mantronix, as well for other artists such as Tricky Tee, Just-Ice, and T-La Rock. The TR-909 drum machine has an amazing sound that sticks no matter what situation you place it in. This is what I consider a Holy Grail of drum machines.

Then comes along Behringer with the RD-9, which is a faithful recreation of the TR-909, This was my opportunity to finally inject that sound into my records so of course I jumped on it as soon as it was announced and I'm so happy that I did because the RD-9 is so punchy and it has a great feel. Behringer did their homework and delivered!

Mind Blowing How Good This Sounds!

I knew Phil Collins used the original Roland CR-78 on the 'In The Air of Night' record, and I knew J-Dilla used it on a few records, but I never knew that I wanted one until Cherry Audio released their plugin version, which I must admit is amazing.

The thing is, on Reverb, the Roland CR-78 goes for anywhere from $1,800 to $5,000 and I'm not going to spend that much on a drum machine that could die on me and I will have to spend thousands on servicing. Thankfully, six months ago, Behringer announced that they were releasing the RD-78, so I pre-ordered it immediately!

I already own the RD-6, RD-8, and RD-9, all of which I'm very happy with, so this was a no-brainer for me.

Behringer never misses. The RD-78 sounds INCREDIBLY GOOD!

I you have an opportunity to buy this drum machine, don't hesitate!

Sounds Great, Fun To Use!!!

Back in the 80s, I bought a Boss DR-110 from a tiny music shop on Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn, two blocks away from Kings Plaza. I had tons of fun with that little drum machine, teaching myself how to record demos until someone stole it, and I bought the Casio RZ-1.

The Behringer RD-6's sound reminds me of the DR-110, but it's a lot better because I can change the tone and texture using distortion. I also love its individual outputs for the kick, snare, toms, clap, and hat for greater control during the tracking process.

It's a very simple straightforward drum machine that doesn't require any instructions or tutorials to learn.

Have fun!

Serious Shenanigans: The S2400 is your favorite sampler's favorite sampler

Ayo!

Let me tell you something, I've been using my new S2400 for 2 weeks now, and although that's a very short time, and I can positively say that this is hands down my very favorite sampler in my studio.

The 12-Bit classic mode sounds amazingly good, the filters are beautiful, the swing is ridiculous, and the metal build is solid! Don't think of this as an SP-1200 clone, it's beyond that, this is a modern sampler with modern features that supersedes the SP-1200 and Emax samplers of yesteryear.

The really cool part about the S2400 is that it's future-proof as there are plans for additional FX and audio engine expansion boards.

I almost blew it by canceling my first order out of impatience and then ordering it again months later when I realized I was making a mistake. I'm glad I changed my mind, this is a great investment, and I can't wait to release new music created with the S2400...

Logic used to be my favorite DAW, but then Apple fell the f**k off

Hey Apple, I don't know what's going on with the Logic development team, but Logic is not the G.O.A.T. anymore. You guys fell the f**k off. What happened to the stability that we could depend on? What's up with the past 5 updates being prone to impeding bugs and sometimes overwhelming issues? The logic I used to know and love was smooth. I could just work with no problems, but now? Trash...

what a bummer to hear this. I haven't used Logic a ton in the last 5 years, but it's been ok in the limited use cases I assign it to. Do you think there's any hope things improve stability-wise over the next few years? What DAW will you switch to in the meantime?

bklyn

@pkennethk I can't call it with Apple, but I do know that I've moved on to Presonus Studio One which also works perfectly with my Softube Console 1/Fader so I'm happy with that. I'm just disappointed with Apple. It's like they moved into this direction of trying to compete with Ableton Live when they should be focusing on their greatest strengths instead and because of that they've messed up Logic Pro which used to be a great production and mixing tool, but now it's sh*t...

One of the very best investments I've ever made!

I never owned an original Roland TR-808 but Howie Tee had one and Chubb Rock showed me how to decay the kick at a studio we were working at. Flash forward decades later I bought a Roland TR-8 and although I love it despite it being a digital resemblance of the original, I knew I had to get the Behringer RD-8 and I'm glad I did.

The weight and punch of this analog drum synth is a wake-up call from the 808 gods themselves. Believe it or not, Behringer made a better 808 remake than Roland who obliviously doesn't care about chasing the analog ghosts of their legacy, but thankfully Behringer are rebels who are bringing back some the gear that was out of my reach as a teenager.

Sounds beautiful from the jump!

Okay so I got my Korg Minilogue XD yesterday and maaaaan, let me tell you that this bad boy is no damn joke! It has a big warm beautiful sound and it's super easy to use. My Korg MS-20 Mini was a disappointment but this makes up for it in many ways. I'm hoping that the Korg Wavestate will have a desktop version because I will definitely buy that one too.

its paraphonic. oscillators summer pre-filter... that's why they're doing the monopoly, same basic thing but with 4 different oscillators and a different fitler design (CEM/SSM chips)

Para D doesn't sound as cool as Poly D, but there's nothing poly about it.... awesome though I am sure it is

A 12 Voice Polyphonic Classic!!!!

A lot of people have this idea that the Behringer Deepmind 12 is a Juno-106 clone, I'm going to have to disagree with that, it's more, and this is something else, and it's dope AF! I've only had this synth for about 2 weeks and I'm still learning it, but it sounds beautiful and it's allowing me to do some wonderful things with it. I plan to make a lot of records with this synth, a lot!

bklyn

Everything sounds like they should!

10 years ago my former mastering engineer Barry Corliss (Jake One, Vitamin D, Macklemore) recommended these to me and it's been great ever since. My mixes translate as they should and I've never had to repair or service them like my Alesis Monitor Ones or my old Yamaha NS-10s.

Behringer, Behringer, Behringer! Oh my Behringer Synths!

I almost made the mistake of buying the Korg Odyssey, but after being disappointed my Korg MS-20 Mini's 1 MIDI channel, I jumped ship and joined the Behringer revolution which is the winning team if you didn't know. It sounds great, works great, it's just great!

I hope I don't sound like I'm bashing Korg, but if you own a Korg MS-20 Mini and use a sequencer, then you should understand my disappointment. The Behringer Odyssey is seriously a beautiful synthesizer that fits my musical lifestyle and I'm grateful for having one in my home studio.

Best Birthday gift ever!

My Mother and Father-In-Law with help from my wife gave me my Wasp Deluxe for my 50th Birthday. And pun heavily intended this has been a sweet dream ever since! It's only been two weeks, but I'm having so much fun with the Wasp Deluxe. I recently recreated the patch from the Fred Wesley & JB's classic "Blow Your Head" and the Wasp Deluxe's filter added that extra sweet buzz to make it stand out from the original. This synth has grit, and it's naturally funky! I'm loving it!

all the novation stuff is wasp derived with the CMOS filter

bklyn

I've been interested in the Novation Bass Station 2, circuit and Mininova for awhile.

Don't hesitate, invest in this synth!!

I must seem like a Behringer fanboy by now, but there's a good reason for that, they make dope synthesizers. The Pro-1 has a fat, warm, heavy, punchy sound. It's a lot of fun to use and best of all it works as it should. The tones I'm getting out of this one are nothing short of fresh! This is a must-have synthesizer!

you said 'dope' and 'fresh' in the same review.... I feel 15 again

What the Korg MS-20 Mini should've been!

Don't waste your money on the Korg MS-20 Mini like I did. Don't make the same mistake of buying the Korg MS-20 Mini as I've done. If you already own a Korg MS-20 Mini and then don't buy the Behringer K-2, you're gonna hate your Korg MS-20 Mini like I do.

So why so much hate for the Korg MS-20 Mini and so much love for the Behringer K-2?

Well for one, the korg MS-20 Mini only has 1 MIDI channel and to make things worst there's also only one MIDI port and it's a MIDI In port at that. If you're a MPC X user like myself then you know this is like painting yourself in a corner.

Seriously what was Korg thinking of????

But Behringer on the other hand was clearly thinking about us musicians. They didn't just give us all 16 MIDI channels, and MIDI in and Thru ports but they also gave us a faithful sonic recreation of the orginal Korg MS-20 with switchable filters from both iterations of the orginals. They thought about real estate and those in the Eurorack modular community.

Behringer wins!

There's a reason why this synth is so popular!

Ken Mesford of the band SL9 introduced the Neutron to me. I didn't think I would be interested in this synth at first, but now I can't get enough of it. It just sounds and feels good to the ears and it's versatile. I get some really cool tones out of it and it's just fun to experiment with because it has a unique character to it. I'm not sure, but I think this synth shares the same oscillator and filter as the MS-1 which I think is modeled on the Roland SH-101. This is just a fun synthesizer to work with!

bklyn

I'm so glad I invested in this synth!

I was skeptical of the Model D until I had a keyboard tracking session to attend at Joe Doria's home studio for an album I'm producing. Joe has lots of original classic keyboards and synths including the original Moog Minimoog Model D. When Joe showed us that the Behringer sounds just like the original I was sold on it. I've been having great fun with my Model D every day since purchasing it. The best part about it is it sounds amazing, it has a ballsy analog weight and punch to it as it should. This is the one that started my Behringer synth addiction...

One of the best Craigslist finds ever!

I wasn't looking for this synth, it happened to found me. I was buying 12 unit rack case and the seller who was moving to another state decided to throw in the JV-880 for free. I bought a rack case for $50 and got a free synthesizer, how awesome is that? I used to use a JV-1080 at AG Studio in Brooklyn, and the JV-2080 at Kingston Studios also in Brooklyn, so it didn't take me long to get acclimated to the JV-880 which also came with the piano card. Best freebie ever!

bklyn

A slept on classic and a solid investment!

I purchased this synth at an estate sale for $20. I don't know why they were selling it for so cheap, but it has been good all the way through. I used to occasionally use this during my engineering days at AG Studio in Brooklyn, but now that I own this I realize I was dropping the ball back then. The Kork M3r turned out to be a solid investment and for the low price, I got it for makes the deal all the sweeter...
