Cheetah Marketing was a Cardiff, Wales-based electronics company founded by brothers Howard and Michael Jacobson. Originally producing peripherals and software for home computers, the company entered the musical instrument market in 1987 with the affordable MK5 MIDI controller keyboard, going on to release a line of budget-oriented synthesizers, drum machines, and sequencers aimed at cash-strapped musicians.

The brand is best remembered for the MS6, a 1U rackmount 6-voice multitimbral analog synthesizer released in 1988 and designed by Ian Jannaway. Built around the Curtis CEM 3396 chip (the same voice IC used in the Oberheim Matrix 1000 and Elka EK22), it paired twelve DCOs with analog filters to deliver warm, musical tones at a fraction of the cost of competing polysynths. Other notable products included the MS800 digital wave synthesizer designed by Mike Lynch of Lynett Systems, the MD8 pattern-based drum machine, and the 16-bit MD-16 MIDI drum machine designed by Chris Wright and Nick Robbins.

Cheetah's gear developed a cult following among electronic and dance music producers drawn to the warm analog character of the MS6 and the lo-fi charm of its drum machines. The company ceased operations in 1993.

Cheetah has 6 products cataloged on Equipboard, including MIDI Keyboard Controllers and Synthesizers. Their gear is featured by 9 artists, with the strongest followings in Electronic, Rock, and Pop. Notable users include Aphex Twin, Rick Wakeman, and Legowelt.
