Foxrox Electronics is a boutique guitar effects company founded by Dave Fox in 1992, making it one of the earliest entrants in the boutique pedal movement alongside brands like Fulltone and Way Huge. Dave Fox attended the Institute of Audio Research in the early 1980s and worked as a QC technician at Crest Audio, where he discovered vintage fuzz face circuits that inspired him to begin building his own effects. The company is based in Harbeson, Delaware.
Foxrox is best known for the Octron series of analog octave pedals — the Octron, Octron2, and Octron3 — which deliver both octave-up and octave-down sounds and have become staples on professional pedalboards. Other notable designs include the Paradox TZF through-zero flanger, the CC Hybrid fuzz (a pioneering hybrid germanium/silicon transistor fuzz), the AquaVibe and ProVibe UniVibe-style pedals, and the modular ZIM platform with interchangeable ZIMcard circuits. The FR 100 Overdrive, Hot Silicon fuzz, and Wah Retrofit Kit round out the lineup.
