Maison is a Korean guitar maker that began producing instruments in the late 1970s, initially focused on the Japanese market. The original company built handmade acoustic and electric guitars from Korean workshops, with a catalog dominated by copies of American classics — Les Paul- and Stratocaster-style solidbodies, Flying V shapes, semi-hollow archtops, and the FA series of full-acoustic models. Maison also produced instruments under contract for other brands of the era, including Photogenic and Columbus.

In the late 1980s the original Maison operation closed and the brand was acquired by YooJin Industries, which expanded the line into bass guitars and ramped up volume production for export. Distribution in the United Kingdom was handled by FCN Music during the 1990s. Vintage examples from the original Korean run are generally well-regarded by collectors for their wood selection and build, while the post-takeover instruments are considered more variable.

Maison guitars are no longer in active production under any consistent identity, and most examples encountered today trade on the used and vintage market through shops and online marketplaces such as Reverb and eBay.
