Swindler Effects is a boutique guitar pedal company based in Birmingham, Alabama, founded in 2013 by computer engineer Drew Swindle. What began as a modest custom effects workshop in a dining room apartment grew into a recognized small-batch operation, with Swindle building pedals out of a home workshop alongside business partner Sam Light, who handles graphics and marketing. The company's design philosophy draws from the Functionalist aesthetic of German industrial designer Dieter Rams, and its pedal names pay homage to Birmingham landmarks and the city's industrial heritage.
