You're very right about them nailing it, the sound on these is so flat and balanced. Love the splash of color on the Fool's Gold model. How are they vs. your HD25s? Which do u like more?

For me personally, I like the HD-25 because they are more comfortable and deliver better highs. That being said, I think that the TMA-1's are better for producing which is why I have both.

Have a friend who's looking for the "Beats by Dre" of speakers. Would these qualify? Are they flat, or do they color the sound? How's the bass?

The beats speakers would definately colour the sound, although for a while I "made do" with a pair of logitech computer speakers. As long as you can reference these with other headphones and speakers to ensure the mix is balanced and not distorted or lacking in any way, it should be ok.

Versatile performance with seamless Windows integration
I love this computer. It's great for doing day-to-day tasks and well as the more complicated stuff. I also love boot camp as it allows me to run windows 7/8 in a partition of the hard drive.
