David Elitch's Gear
In this Facebook post, Dave Elitch posts a photo of his Hayman kit and says:
My boy blue! These old Hayman kits are so great. I found this one that was super beat up and Heuers Drum Lab rewrapped it in a crazy serpentine blue he had lying around. They’re like made like vintage Ludwig’s (3ply w thick re-rings) but with more balls due to them using Scandinavian Birch instead of Maple or Mahogany. Common over in the UK but not as much stateside.
At 33:56 in this episode of Bill Burr's podcast, Dave Elitch says:
When I played drums when I was a kid I got a $300 CB 700 kit that was a piece of shit and I beat the brakes off of it, then I got a Pearl Export, and I worked my way up.
