My Marshall sounding solo machine

This thing has two channels right? Well, the crunch mode isn't very inspiring at all, infact i want to mod it. It's kinda harsh and buzzy no matter how i tweak it The lead side worth the climb. This is certanly one of the most powerful marshall sounding lead distortions i've ever heard, and i've heard many.

Vintage sounds and versatility.

Just bought it three weeks ago and i couldn't find a tone that i didn't love. It has a little noise and adds some colour to my tone but that's precisely what you expect to find in a analog modulation like this.

Everybody's got something to hide except my and my monkey

What's small, green, ugly as hell, but works perfectly as a gain booster to push my drives and distortions? The Bad Monkey of course. The best bang for the buck pedal in my set. Besides, if your'e using batteries instead of a dc power unit, it will sound even more sweet. The mixer output is a great feature too, not only to send the signal directly to a mixer but to make the monkey behave more like a transparent drive with absolutely no buzz. Just loving it!

Interesting comment about the battery sounding better. Battery connector on mine was bad and it wouldn't work atall with a 9V P/S. But I just tried it with an old 9V 10W P/S from an Alesis Microverb 3 and it came back to life and sounds awesome. Wonder if they are working on the edge of the capacity of a 9V power supply.

Not a fancy pedal but it's truly a versatile tool.

In my opinion the Sansamp Tri-Ac it's a overly underrated pedal and the main reason is that many guitarists(including me) bought it expecting the same kind of powerful distortions that his big brother GT-2 offers. I try to use it as a lead distortion for solos and i was never happy with the results, but the real magic only came when i put it in my set as a multi-overdrive unit. I mean...c'mon, how many overdrive pedals in the market coud gives you a combination of transparent drive + crunch + vox style drive, changing the voice of the pedal on the fly whitout bending? And this configuration it's just an example based on my atual settings, the possibilities are almost endless my friends.

I'm not sure what's voxy about a midrange control.

My old faithful!

I have my G-400 since 1998, it's made in korea but is an impressive piece of work and several guitarists who owns real Gibsons SG told me that mine sounds better than theirs.

The stock bridge humbucker in an SG standard is pretty poor for anything but thrashy punk rock and 90s heavy alternative rock. The 490R neck pickups take a lot of height and polepiece adjusting to dial in. Plus, so many Nashville-made Gibsons are utter rubbish just from wood selection and craftsmanship. You have to sort through some dogs to get a winner. That said I would take the folgers challenge, my slightly-modded SG standard VS your stock Epi 400, any time you want to be hear the difference between a really good Gibson and a Korean copy.

Well Jim, i'm not saying that mine Epi sounds better than all Gibsons but in fact i heard this from some Gibson owners and at least one dealer. That said, im aware that i could improve my Epi with some mods and stuff, but as we both know and you already said, the stepping stone of a good guitar sound is essentialy about wood, and i guess i was lucky with this one. Perhaps with a less busy work schedule we could try our guitars against each other...

I was mostly ribbing you. The biggest difference is probably neck shape and finish quality.

eduardo_bahia

No problem Jim, it's ok to desagree and even respectfully ribb someone :)

Versatility and beauty!

This beauty is a guitar for "all gigs". The factory splitted pickups gives the user a lot of sonic possibilities but despite this fact the Blacktop has no lack of soul and mojo in my opinion. Of course you can change some itens as keys, electrics etc..but i'm totally satisfied with mine.

Solid and acessible clean boost pedal.

The Fire Power Booster it's a very well build and packed pedal with a simple but gourgeous design and fine components. The FPB has a clean/dirty switch but will not give you any kind of drive or crunch, it can be used as booster for gain and volume as well with 30db of boost, and also has controls to adjust treble and bass. It can work with 9, 12 and 18v and it's extremely silent and solid. As a clean booster this pedal does it's job very well but since his "dirty" option is barely noticeable, the FPB it's kind of a one trick pony to me. If you're looking for an straight clean boost pedal with an good cost benefit ratio, the Fire Power Booster it's an great option for sure.

BBD based Analog Delay

Handmade in Brasil by MG Pedals, it's a very warm sounding all analog delay with some special features as double feedback and a optional time control function, actioned by a an optical fiber cable. The heart of the pedal is a pair of MN 3205 BBD I.C's.
