Mat Mitchell uses DPA d:screet 4061
In an article by TPi, it is confirmed that Mat Mitchell used the DPA d:screet 4061 Miniature Omnidirectional Microphones at Lightship 95 Studio, a recording studio located on a ship docked on the Thames River in London. Mat Mitchell stated,
Traditionally, I would have gone with a large diaphragm condenser, but found the d:screet 4061’s gave a more ‘real,’ in the room sound to the drums.

Mat Mitchell uses ATC Loudspeakers SCM45A Pro Studio Monitor
In this article on the official ATC website, it is confirmed that in his studio, Mat Mitchell uses the ATC Loudspeakers SCM45A Pro Studio Monitor.
I’m reacting to the mix and making choices much more quickly. Any problems are instantly apparent – it’s like, ‘oh, that’s out of phase’ or ‘that needs to come down 1.5dB.’ Plus, it’s more exciting. Once I have things is a good place, it’s fun to turn it up because the ATC’s sound so great! The imaging is wide and precise. And of course, as advertised, the ATCs translate perfectly. Every mix sounds just right on my home stereo, in my car, on my phone, and anywhere.
