in fairness i'm probably underqualified to have good judgement on what a guitar should be, given that i've only been playing a few years and havent had much gear come and go in the past, but at least for what i use it for, this is an insanely good guitar. i am really happy with the playability and tones i'm getting out of this semi-affordable guitar.

DJ Slugo uses Roland R-70 Human Rhythm Composer
In this late 2025 interview for YouTube channel Elevator Music, DJ Sluggo reveals that he was one of the Ghetto House pioneers to use the Roland R70 instead of the Boss DR-660. Both machines came out at roughly the same time, and mostly shared the same sounds and capabilities, but the R70 was full CD-quality at 44.1kHz, while the 660 was a bit grittier and downmarket at 32kHz.
Around 15:20 he states:
I had a mixer before I had the R70... which was one of my biggest machines...

Krystal Klear uses Boss Dr. Rhythm DR-660
In this screenshot from this 2017 interview with Attack Magazine, Declan Lennon (aka "Krystal Klear") exposes the virtues of the DR-660:
I use the DR-660 on everything from percussive sounds to pounding claps. Known as the Dance Mania or ghetto machine because a lot of producers from that era were using this on their productions. It’s another value piece and worth every penny.
