Measurement microphone

This is a quite cheap and decent measurement mic, same as the Behringer ECM800. I use it for acoustic measurements.

Absolutely fantastic MIDI controller

Built like a tank, has metal case and aftertouch. Bought it second hand for approx. USD 200, but worth every cents.

Comfy chair

Able to work long hours in the studio without getting back injury...

MIDI star network.

"Plugged in and forget" type of equipment. I'm really satisfied with this MIDI interface. Rock solid operation even with the latest Yosemite.

Nice Thunderbolt interface

Its thunderbolt connection is pretty solid. I used to get "connection lost" problems through USB connection, but it might happened because of the cheap USB hub... After all, this is a great thunderbolt audio interface which has plenty of ins and outs.

The real FM synth from the late 80s.

The Yamaha DX 7 II-D version is pretty rare and not that popular as the DX 7 version. Sounds very nice. This is my first outboard synth.

Small synth huge sound!

I love this synth so much, it has a really nice phat sound.

fiddler

Lovely sounding synth.

Nice synth, unfortunately the TI feature has serious latency issues even in LIVE mode. There is no problem through MIDI... update: I've tested in Ableton and no issues at all in LIVE mode. It seems it works properly in certain DAWs only.

Finally I'm the happy owner of this new fancy toy, I love it so much.

Entry-level guitar with superior sound quality

Beautiful sounding entry level guitar. Sounds 1000 times better than the F310 which is the cheapest Yamaha. Worth the price!

fiddler

Separates the speakers from the stands... worth the price.

You should upgrade those to the Primacoustic Recoil Stabilisers (_), really helps to tighten the bass and the mids :-).

fiddler

The only difference between Speakerdudes and the Primacoustic that the Primacoustic has a metal plate on top of the foam. I simply found a piece of metal and placed to the top of the Speakerdudes. BAM, I saved 100 bucks... :)

Nice toy, prefect for annoying friends or the wife :D

Compatibility issues with plugin support hinder upgrade use

I've got the official upgrade for free, but I don't use it because most of my plugins don't support AAX64.

Version: Avid Pro Tools 11

Effective high-frequency treatment but limited bass impact

It works very well above 350Hz, but not much affect below, because of the depth of the bass traps.

fiddler

I've bought it in the US, it works on vocals and guitar AMPs.

fiddler

Cheap, but weak... good for small speakers.

Cheap and adjustable, but not good for heavy speakers such as Event Opal.

Great for low-end mixing but lacks vibrant mids and highs

Closed headphone, the low range is perfect, the mids and highs are a bit lifeless. I use it for mixing the low end, because my studio quite small and no proper bass sound in it.

backslash

Going to buy these headphones too. Do you think they are good for producing? Thanks! :)

fiddler

I love the way it sounds, specially the low end. But if you can try out few more headphone like, Beyerdynamic DT880 (semi open back, brighter sound, less low), DT990 (full open back, brighter, less low). Audio Technica ATH-M50.

backslash

Not sure if my computer will handle the 250 Ohm impedance of DT880 or DT990...

fiddler

I have the 250 Ohm version, if I connect it directly to the laptop it works, but not loud enough for certain tasks.

So, if you don't have external interface go for the 32 Ohm version.

backslash

But DT880 or DT990 aren't made with 32 Ohm impedance, just with 250 Ohm. Or am I wrong?

fiddler

no, the 32 Ohm version available as well, check it on amazon.

Nice controller, but the Hypercontrol in some cases useless

Keys are ok, the sliders and knobs are quite good. The Hypercontrol needs more improvement, because its a bit buggy or doesn't support some DAW.

Professional converters with style and reliability

Apogee Duet 2 has professional A/D D/A converters, amazingly sexy and reliable.

fiddler

Powerful, looks cool and heavy as duck.

Beautiful sounding speakers, I prefer the Opals over the Genelec 8040.
