Hi, my name is Liam and I'm 22 years old.

I live about an hour outside of Portland, Oregon.

Was raised since I was a kid in musical theater and started b-boying/breakdancing around 2000. Bought my first guitar in the 4th grade, started playing drums in the School Band in 5th grade. Trombone. Bass. SP-404SX. FL Studio. Mess around on the piano.

Mostly I make beats. Favorite bands/artists (other than the usual suspects), Soul Coughing, Morphine, and Dinosaur Jr. Slum Village, D'angelo, Madlib, MF DOOM, Freestyle Fellowship.

Always nice to find a new site like this before it gets overpopulated with spam and we have a chance to build.

GPBear just reminded me how much I want to be 22 again.... those were the days! Maybe Santa will bring me my youth back for Christmas if I'm good for the next month.

speaking of gear, even having a lot of stuff in the stripped down home studio setup I put together a few months ago I have to thin the ehard again. I just can't get into my walk-in closet, too many boxes, cases, keyboards.... argh, the clutter is getting to me

Sadly my gear is currently IN the closet with a pile blocking from the outside... But I have a GAS shipment coming for xmas so that will be cool.

I've been making a synthpop record with 2 other EBers tapped to provide vocals.... slow going though

I am working on the nightmares EP (on my soundcloud) with an old school friend in need. Horrific back story... he was lead guitarist and vocalist of old band back then, has had a terrible time since then battling mental illness and has recently been diagnosed with MS and cannot play guitar anymore. He needed guitars for a rock musical score and called me.

He sends me MP3's of songs, I drop into DAW and record a guide track of guitars, then send gtr MP3 back to him. Whole project is email based. We caught up face to face once after the first song for about an hour and talked. He just tells me a musical style he has in mind then lets me run. Full versions probably February. I love that technology has come to the ability to do this.

I remember trying to do this when broadband first came out and it was a nightmare zipping files to fit as email attachments... my internet connection was good but the mail servers of the day were not up to it and the DAWs of the time didn't handle mp3 yet and mp3 is just fine for people to overdub to, though getting high res tracks back from contributors was horrible before dropbox and google drive. Modern file sharing is a godsend.

We haven't nutted out opposing DAWs just yet. He is Pro Logic and I am Cubase.
