Hello, I'm a woman living in Belgium, not far away from Brussel. I play guitar since...2 years (newbie here and newbie in music). I ยดm a guitar addict, staying one day without playing is just a lost day. I spent years looking my brothers playing guitar and drums, a father-in-law playing guitar, and I thought it was not for me. My passion was drawing and painting. Now, when I paint, I paint guitars and guitarists :D I arrived here just because I was looking for guitars using by Brian Setzer, Matt Bellamy and SRV, and the link was on a french site to learn playing guitar. I like this place :)

welcome.... you have a lovely country; beer, cheese and Front242... sometimes its good to take time off from the guitar and play another instrument for a little to gain perspective and avoid falling into a rut.

Welcome!

You happen to be self-taught for painting or you take lessons?

Welcome Belgium.

I paint and draw since I'm 14, so it's a passion. I thought until I discover electric guitar that painting will be my only passion...

Now if only you could paint a bass guitar :)

Welcome Buzz. To infinity... AND BEYOND!

Hi everyone, I'm Valentino and play the guitar is my favourite hobby. I'm very glad to be here for sharing opinions or ideas to build and to improve my pedal board and much more. I have a fender telecaster and a VOX amplifier.

I'm going to build my pedal board and I would start buying a compressor.

See you on this forum, best,

Valentino

Hello Tino. Can't wait to see what you end up adding to your board.

Hi everybody. Just another drumming gear head. I have almost everything on my board but, I'm constantly looking to add new gear.

You will be a great addition to the board. You pretty much have your pick of gear and drummers. If you wanted to, you could probably have a 6,000 gear score in a week.

a belated welcome

Hi everybody. I'm from South-Africa. I love music. Esp the weirder types. I first found this site I think when I was searching for octave pedals when I came across one of those list with the 5 pedals. And so I went on to look at different lists that the site offers. The one about the power supplies was very useful and informative. Also a very cool site in general. O and as a side note, Should I just start a new thread if I have a question about editing gear for a artist?

You take your Zef loving self right back out of here :), Just kidding

Welcome

There have been threads that discuss editing an artist, but if you are unable to find them, you may post freely. This site is much more easy going than others and we don't crucify you for posting in the "wrong" place. We are terrific at going off-topic in every thread as well so, wherever you decide to post, it will eventually become right/wrong place in time.

1) welcome

2) wait, there is no 2

Hi all. Now, my name sake should suggest that I tell nobody anything, but that's what pseudonyms are for... right? My name is Terry, I'm 45 and am down here in Australia. I've been an Equipboard member for over a year now, but seem stuck at 173 Gear IQ. hahaha! I use this site as my go to whenever I need to dial in a sound or find out about an artist or some gear... the knowledge here has proven itself time and again. I've been playing since about 16, when a neighbour brought his acoustic over and I graduated from strumming tennis racquets. Left handed and too lazy to restring my brother's old clunker nylon, I told my neighbour to teach me right handed. I grew up in a musical neighbourhood where every second house had a guitarist, every fifth a drummer. One of the bigger local bands needed a bass player when theirs got a girlfriend, so I stepped into role of player of the long low guitar. Being a bass player in our town without a girlfriend got me plenty of work. It wasn't until I was able to keep up with the fastest local drummer (speed freak to boot), that I understood that I had a shot at this. Shortly after switched back to guitar, taking on both lead guitar and lead vocals roles in all subsequent bands to present day, and playing all instruments in an ever growing solo catalogue.
Musical influences fill all the dark corners, goth, post punk, alternate, grunge, industrial and my original works gravitate towards catchy, memorable, hook filled tales of lost love, violence and mental illness. My love of gear is not governed by brand names and the quest for my perfect tone plateaus and spikes in waves.
When my daughter was born I stopped playing for 8 years. I came back into a changed industry full of digital recording and emulators and my gear was now called "retro". She is 11 now, sings, plays guitar, bass and drums and I am building a studio at home to allow us both some dedicated swinging space as well as to commit all my recordings to digital, and no longer live in fear that my musical history rests on the continued stability of a drawer full of 4-track cassettes. Thanks for being here Equipboard.

Terry, a huge welcome! That's a very cool story. Your gear now being called "retro" is a good thing I think ;) And that's so cool that your daughter sings and plays all those instruments at age 11. I bet you love that. Definitely a great excuse to build a nice music space. "Of course we need more/better gear! It's for her education!!" :)

Thanks for the thanks, and thank YOU! We're glad to have a community that's helping us build this database of knowledge.
