Believed to be predecessor to first Affinity Strat which first appears in Squier 1997 catalog with exactly the same description as above. Also sometimes mistakenly referred to as a 50th Anniversary Strat due to the coincidence of Fender celebrating 50 years of excellence 1946-1996 sticker on rear of headstock that was applied to products in that year rather than denoting a special model.
