Fingerlab DM1 is a slick drum machine app with a familiar pattern grid, offering fun with its 29 drum kits, including classics like the Roland CR-78 and TR-909. The app's Repeat button simplifies recording, and a mixer allows control over drum parameters. However, it's limited to iPad/iPad 2, and some effects are exclusive to iPad 2. Lacking features like sample import, AudioCopy, and MIDI I/O, DM1 feels more like a casual plaything than a serious tool at present. While enjoyable, it’s not yet a comprehensive solution for serious musicians.
