Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 review - SoundGuys

soundguys.com

The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 delivers solid performance as a portable Bluetooth speaker, excelling in sound quality and durability with its IP67 rating. It's lightweight and perfect for outdoor use, making it an appealing choice for hikers and party-goers alike. However, the lack of USB-C charging is a significant drawback that could deter potential buyers looking for convenience. While it offers a unique "Outdoor Boost" feature, the absence of app support and reliance on micro-USB charging detracts from its overall appeal. Ultimately, it’s a good option, but not without its flaws.

Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 3 Review - RTINGS.com

rtings.com

While the Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 3 boasts a solid build and impressive battery life, its performance leaves much to be desired. The sound quality is decent for casual listening, but it lacks customization options and a robust bass response—making it unsuitable for larger spaces or bass-heavy genres. Furthermore, its inability to integrate with the Ultimate Ears app and voice assistants limits its functionality, leaving it feeling like a less versatile option in the portable speaker market. If you prioritize portability and durability, it might serve well on outdoor adventures, but audiophiles should look elsewhere.

negative

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 Review | PCMag

pcmag.com

The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 boasts a stylish design and impressive stereo sound, ideal for moderate listening. However, it falters under heavy bass, distorting at high volumes, and offers limited features such as no companion app or speakerphone functionality. While it excels in waterproofing and outdoor performance, the outdated micro USB charging and weak low-end response leave room for improvement. For those prioritizing balanced audio and additional features, consider alternatives like the JBL Flip 6, which provides a more consistent experience overall.

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 review | TechRadar

techradar.com

The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 shines as a budget-friendly outdoor speaker, boasting a durable design, impressive battery life, and decent sound quality for its size. However, it falls short with an outdated microUSB charging port and button layout that can confuse users. While audiophiles may be left wanting more at higher volumes, this pint-sized powerhouse remains an excellent choice for casual listeners seeking portability and fun in a compact package.

positive

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 review: a likeable, budget-friendly portable speaker, but is it enough? | What Hi-Fi?

whathifi.com

The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 is a reliable and budget-friendly portable Bluetooth speaker that offers a cohesive sound and durable design. However, it falls short against newer competitors like the JBL Flip 6, which boasts superior audio quality. The speaker retains the same outdated micro USB charging, which feels less relevant in today's market, contrasting with rivals that have moved to USB-C. While it has improved battery life and Bluetooth range, these enhancements are incremental rather than revolutionary. Ultimately, the Wonderboom 3 is a solid choice for newcomers, but existing Wonderboom 2 users may not find enough reason to upgrade.

Good depth

This has a good depth to the sound. Sounds rich and clear. Possibly the best mono bluetooth speaker I have tested. I miss an aux port for it.
