Ultimate Ears is an audio company best known for pioneering custom in-ear monitors (IEMs) for touring musicians. The company was founded in 1995 by Jerry Harvey and Mindy Harvey after Jerry, then Van Halen's monitor engineer, built a set of dual-driver molded earpieces for drummer Alex Van Halen to help him hear clearly over stage volume.
