What is TLM147? I have only heard of M-147, but that is about it. What's the difference between TLM and M?

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas! [Feb 2017]

When I try to replace a photo of, say an ESP guitar, as I found a much better shot, it appears that the photo doesn't change, even though I uploaded it. In some cases it does, in some cases it doesn't.

I don't think submitting gear to Equipboard brings any points, just like editing/revising submissions.

huh, but there are also some things that somewhat fill the gap of that. but you are right, I am young and I don't have kids.

Just cracked 1000 IQ, someone buy me a beer!

The thing about my submissions is that everybody looks at it as "wow there are 10 thousand submissions, that is insane, wowzers...", while many of them already have their sources down (such as Maxon's artist pages), or I added a bunch of submissions that artists used only for demonstrating purposes. This said, I made an absolute havoc on Phil X's, Andy Martin's and Rob Chapman's page.

This said, thank you very much for all the compliments, but I don't think it's some kind of a big deal or something... I just want to help contribute to this site, and hopefully I am doing it right! <3

Whats your keeper guitar/bass?

Not that I had much to keep as I have played only four low-budget guitars - but my Danelectro DE59 is so lovely, I can't even describe how lovely it is. I also have my Da Capo acoustic, which I would keep. It's an extremely cheap beginner's model, but it has been with me on all my trips, through all of my mental states and all of my musical lows. It has a massive dent near the bridge, because a drunk classmate threw a stone at it because I wouldn't play her song. It doesn't sound good, but I love it because all of my musical attempts were written on it.

How long 'til artist profile pic uploads show up?

It seems that the system does not want to change photographs anymore... I tried this feature on several musicians now and it appears that it is not working.

6yabout 6 years ago

What string gauges does everyone use?

I use 9's or 10's on electric, nothing too heavy. On acoustic, I use 11's or 12's.

COVID-19 - How's everyone doing? Anyone playing more music?

May I just weigh in on you guys? Those two pieces you sent were...fantastic! @jimmarchi1, @soulsash, I am no expert at synths (or music in general), nor do I know how to play them or anything. Jim's song had this hectic vibe to it, and those octave synth pulses (can you even call it like that) reminded me of something Bloc Partyish, such as that ending in "Ratchet". Very nice, expecting nice, salty and edgy political commentary on that one. I enjoyed Soulsash's tune as well, I like the minimalistic vibe to it - it sounds very relaxed and kudos for the drums, especially the ride cymbal - I don't know why I'm saying this, but it sounds so wonderful at certain parts.

Since everybody is sharing something, hm - I might share two of pieces I did way back, as all of my equipment is still in Slovenia. One of them is a cover of a song called "Ostajem Sa Vragom Kojeg Bolje Znam" (I Am Staying with the Devil, whom I Know Better) by Croatian artist Tibor. I managed to somehow transcribe all the guitar parts and create a somewhat decent cover.

Ostajem sa vragom

And there is another composition called "The Games of Sun and Moon". I did this on a cheap Strat knockoff in 3AM, so there must have been plenty of mistakes. I don't have a pedalboard, so I did this via Guitar Rig. The input jack was falling off the Strat, so I did this before it teared off completely from the guitar.

The Games of Sun and Moon

I don't often share my covers/ideas because of an instant self-deprecation episode, but here - I still have balls after all! :))))

COVID-19 - How's everyone doing? Anyone playing more music?

A quick update (although noone has asked, but okay) - we are okay! Luckily, I live in a relatively isolated area and we have managed to have only 8 infected patients in our county and 0 deaths, which is wonderful. However, people are growing sick of the quarantine and are prone to illegal meetings and gatherings. Conspiracy theories are growing popular around here - I can't believe how many people think of coronavirus as a artificial virus grown in laboratories by Chinese/Russians/Americans, and that 5G caused it. Also, our politicians started talking nonsense - one of our more controversial politicians (he is heavily influenced by David Icke) said that it is absurd that we halted the whole economy because some pensioners are going to die. I managed to tell him to shut the fuck up, on which he responded that I can't bear with the truth. Ridiculous!

My strings are still holding and I went to a guy in a village who said that has some very old guitar, which turns out to be the 1996 Taylor 420! In my opinion, much better guitar than all of those Taylors I have tried at the Thomann back in 2019. It has that punchy tone and my my, if I wasn't a poor Arts student, I would have gotten my hands onto it...

COVID-19 - How's everyone doing? Anyone playing more music?

I am measuring my temperature and it doesn't exceed 35,9 Celsius, which is about as perfect as it can be - this is my normal temperature and I don't show any symptoms. I wasn't forcibly evacuated, I just left before borders closed. I wasn't ordered to leave. I hope that the company survives - although I am still not sure where do you work.

We just had a horrible earthquake in Zagreb (capital of Croatia) - no one died, but our cathedral got damaged and several buildings and cars were torn down. A 15-year-old child is in critical condition, we hope that it will get better. People are on the streets again, which is so, so, bad because of the current situation with coronavirus. I don't know what the hell is going on, but nevermind...

COVID-19 - How's everyone doing? Anyone playing more music?

Hey guys, warm greetings from Croatia. We are fine here, as you might have heard - Italy got hit pretty heard and the country I study (Slovenia) has over 300 cases of corona. I have managed to escape from Slovenia before they locked the whole country down. However, in the process of escaping (I had about 20 minutes to pack my stuff and leave), I left two of my guitars and managed to take my acoustic guitar only. Apart from guitars, I left many things in Slovenia, including my personal documents and most of my clothes. I felt like homeless when I first came back to Croatia. They closed all the borders so I can't quite get back to Slovenia.

I am bummed regarding that, mostly concerned for my colleagues in Slovenia and I am without my two guitars. They closed down everything that is not necessary, which means that I can't get my guitar strings. I am worried that those on the acoustic would break and then I would be guitarless. It's hell, since we don't know until when is this going to last.

I have been working on some new music, but most of the songs are in some ridiculous open tunings and don't have vocals yet... Will share them sometime.

OFF TOPIC

bumping this thread i don't know, it seems pretty dead around here jim, how are you doing?

would like to apologize to you for the bickering around 3 years ago. you might not remember it, but yes, it's us Croats who tend to apologize for such things. however, I did not waste my youth...I started to record and loop spacey shit. i am exploring double drop D at the moment. lovely tuning

you were right, I was pretty egoistic back then

sorry

Rick Beato on YouTube - I could listen to him talk about music all day!

12tone is extremely cool YouTube channel - especially if you do not know anything about the music theory. It is very interesting to see how much music theory is subconsciously implemented into modern music by certain artists.

I love the whole "Mellon Collie" album. Perhaps one of my favourite musical moments ever - I absolutely adore everything, from its teen-angsty nature to ethereal songs like "1979" or "Tonight Tonight", or "Take Me Down". Although I wasn't born back then, I think that it was a brave move to release a double album in the nineties. For some strange reason, I also find Gregg Alexander fine. He has that finesse regarding the production, and his singing voice is quite nice.

If anyone else decides to reply on this particular topic, they'll probably weigh in with their favourite YouTubers, so don't worry about that.

I never got engaged with That Pedal Show - to be honest, it is too long and quite boring. I don't like Andertons as well - all of the affairs Chapman has been marred with ruined the show. Those "under/over the budget" videos were quite interesting, but that is about it. Also, they had this Danelectro episode where bashed Danelectroes senselessly, yet they proceeded to have one of the best jams I have ever heard from them.

6yover 6 years ago

Danelectro!

Thank you, Jim! I got it now, and I have to wait about a week to plug it into the amp as it is in my college dorm. One thing I noticed is that those things come with extremely low action. Otherwise, I didn't even noticed that it is hollow - this means that they are very loud without amplifiers. I love it so far!

Rick Beato on YouTube - I could listen to him talk about music all day!

Perhaps one of my favourite episodes of him was when he dissected "1979". A wonderful episode, he unraveled lots of Corgan's magic there. Especially with that "to die young" part, which were actually vocals loaded with tremolo and echo - I thought it was some kind of synth. His improvisations on Instagram are perhaps too fusion...ish for me. However, a great YouTuber, one of my favourites along with 12tone and Adam Neely.

Danelectro!

So, after some 7 years of playing, I decided that I am getting myself a Danelectro. Specifically, the blue DE59M NOS+. I have absolutely no idea what do those markings mean. I have been in Thomann (for you American cats, I think that's one of the biggest music shops in Europe) and I liked it more than I liked Gretsches, Fenders, Music Mans, Taylors...basically anything.

You Danelectro owners/used-to-be-owners, is there anything I should check on when buying a Dano?

Thanks! KK

Equipboard from other countries

Hey, I think it is possible. If we are world's largest gear encyclopedia, then all artists are accepted. I will add Croatian ones as soon as I have time on doing so. Nevertheless, if it does not work for you, it might work for me as I am the moderator. Can you give me the names of musicians, so I can create an Equipboard for them?

Identifying the gear

It is a girl, actually! Tame Sultana, to be precise. Anyway, need help with this family photo. I have no idea what are those.

I see Leslie cabinet, those huge Emperor stacks, THD UniValve (?), and that is all I know. For guitars, I recognize the God City Instruments model, Peavey Mantis, and that is all I can recognize.

I'm not even trying to identify those Dessners. I tried, but I stopped immediately. Apparently, they share a pedalboard or something.

Anyway, need help with this Vox, doesn't look like an AC30 to me. And the Orange, I don't know whether that's a cab or an amp. https://www.instagram.com/p/BT78r6oB_Ay/?taken-by=tashsultanaofficial

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas! [Feb 2017]

http://equipboard.com/pros/russell-lissack-bloc-party/#effects-pedals

Look at this section, it's full of stuff he doesn't actually use. I would love to do something about it, but it seems that there isn't much to do since I can't moderate it.

Anyway, I was thinking that we should start making sometghing like timeline of artist's gear, you know, sort it out by years, and maybe put that somewhere on the artist page.

You know, sort Slash's gear out by "Use Your Illusion" era, Snakepit era etc.

How about the Big Muff fuzz? I mean, those are normally used by both artists. There are some cheap fuzz pedals, but EHX Big Muff is a must-have.

Holy shit I own 20 guitars!

I'm at 2...does that make me a less of an intellectual person?

Identifying the gear

Welson was an Italian mark, coming from a place called Castelfidardo or something like that. About the guitar, I am clueless, many models have no names, but they have serial numbers. I know they used to sell those guitars as Wurlitzers later on.

Your favorite albums released this year

Procol Harum's Novum. Although they're not that progressive rock type of band they used to be, I still like them big time! It's an amazing blues record though!
