A pretty solid synth

You won't get any super advanced sounds out of this thing, but as someone who primarily works with lo-fi sounds, this synth is perfect for me. My only real complaint is the lack of an amp envelope, but it works fine otherwise.

It's a pretty good mixer

This is my first hardware mixer, so I can't compare it to other mixers, but it does the job well! One problem I have noticed is that I have two synths and a tape deck and I only have one stereo input left, so I'll probably have to upgrade to a 1202 soon. For now, though, this is a pretty good mixer ^

A wonderful little noise tool

I originally got this for the reason most people get tape emulators: to emulate analog tape quality. However, this thing has a hidden gift for noise music. Turn up the feedback knob, tweak the settings, and get some WONDERFUL sounds for noise. As someone who's been attempting to incorporate noise into her music more, this is a wonderful tool to start that prospect.

A great effects unit

I originally got it just to add some reverb to my tape machine, but it has SO much more potential than that. Some great effects on this beast!

GREAT sampling tool

I used to only use Simpler for beat slicing and nothing else, and it's good enough judged on those merits, recently, though, I discovered how great it is for making resampled pads with field recordings. I'm stuck with the Intro version for now, but even then it has SO much potential.

Really nice drone box

This is what I use for drones and stuff, and it's really dang good for that kind of thing. The knobs are nice, the sound is exactly what you'd expect from a tape machine (i.e. full of analog-y goodness), and it was cheap (40 bucks used).

Great for making glitch effects

If you want to have glitchy bits in your music, this is a must-have. The time manipulation is especially handy, and could probably make some sweet turntable sounds in the hands of someone who knew what they were doing (i.e.: not yours truly). Still, great VST from a great company.

A great performance tool

Not much that I can say about this other than that it's great for performing. The buttons feel great to press and everything is available on the face without having to go digging (coughLaunchpadcough). If I do have a complaint, the navigation buttons are a bit confusing for me, but other than that, absolutely amazing.

Really good synth

I used this since a lot back when I was an FL user, and I recently got the standalone version to use in Ableton. It's still an incredible synth, with the best unison I've heard on any synth hands down, great resampling capabilities, and tons of programming capabilities. It can be a little intimidating for beginning users, but once you get under the hood, it's a great synth.

this is a great synth to layer with a hardware analog, you get the 'thick' of the drifty VCOs and deep bass and evolving mid texture from Harmor... lately I have ben using a MIDI Moog with Harmor and my DX7 running into the audio input of a sub phatty for insanely complex, velocity sensitive bass lines... take away Harmor and it loses something even if I have Harmor buried in the mix

Pretty good

This is surprisingly good for a free modular synth. The filter's a bit wonky, but it works pretty well actually.

Pretty good for feedback

I prefer Ableton's Ping Pong Delay, but this is really good for feedback sounds.

A great app

While not as expansive as other, commercial DAWs, Caustic is still great for a free DAW.

worth downloading?

lilythewolf

Definitely, especially since it's free on PC.

Pretty decent emulation

I'm trying to save up for a Gforce Oddity, so I downloaded this in the meantime. I wasn't expecting much, but it's a darn good emulation of the Odyssey. Not perfect, of course, but really good for the time being.

A really good DAW, despite the limitations

Yes. Ableton is as good as the multitude of well-respected electronic musicians would suggest. I could tell this even with the most limited version, Lite notwithstanding. I do wish I could have more scenes for performing, but other than that, great live tool.

Version: Ableton Live 9

A pretty sounding, easy to use delay

While Ableton's Simple Day isn't awful by any means, I prefer this delay to that. Even without the fact I love ping pong delays in general, I just find this easier to program.

A surprisingly good freeware synth

I'm surprised by how good this synth sounds. If the analog style is what you're aiming for, this is a must-have.

for freeware she's a real killer

Nice sounding reverb

This is a really good-sounding reverb. Not sure what else I can say

Decent sampler

I mostly use NN-XT for sampling pianos and strings, as well as slicing vocals. and it works very well for that.

A great tracker

This is a really good free tracker. If you want an introduction to trackers, definitely get Modplug Tracker.

A neat synth

I know everyone and their grandmother uses Massive, but honestly, it's a pretty good synth. I like how routing all the envelopes and LFOs works, and it's got some pretty good effects. I know a lot of people use it for dubstep basses and the like, but as someone who doesn't make much dubstep, it still works really well.
