Channel Strip, Eh?
So this was on sale and on impulse I bought it. Plus I love the fucking Beatles, I mean who doesn't like those 4 four friendly chaps right mate? I think they written a #1 dance hit back in their day. Anyway and I think Pink Fn Floyd recorded at Abbey Road and the name says it all, doesn't it? I mean Abbey Fucking Road right? It's like you put this on a channel and your tracks change man. I mean like they sound one way and then the other. And this thing is bully on snares. Bully.

yes, Floyd used the solid state desk at Abbey Road on dark side, I believe its at Barefoot in LA now and belongs to Eric Valentine who did some QOTSA records

Verb bitches
Not so sure I like this one. I mean it makes everything sound a bit metallic. Not Metallica good, but metallic and tinny if that is a word. I use Ableton stock reverb for my verbs but am going to buy Valhalla's vintage verb tonight and see what that does for me. Luckily for me the TrueVerb was a free WAVEs giveaway and so I got it of course and why not? It was free.

Really cool name. And so it was on sale so I bought it and it comes with so many samples and sounds but is a bit of a CPU hog isn't it? I mean takes awhile to load in the DAW doesn't it? But for the sale price I couldn't beat it, could I?

But it's cheap so I picked it up. Get some pretty cool sounds out of it that might spark some creativity. It's always a crap shoot tryin to find the next VST synth that is going to make your tracks sound as amazing as the producers that are killing it out there. But it's true it's not the shit you have, it's what you can make it do to enhance your own productions. Expensive to be a producer. It's like fucking drugs, you keep buying to get that next high. Love it.

try getting into hardware synths and being a guitarist.... tis not just the cost but the way your home fills with instruments. You look at your VSTi collection a lot because you don't feel like going in the closet for hardware until you feel certain you'll use an idea in the song!

Novation
I definitely should have gotten more than 25 key midi controller for when I am slamming big chords and just fucking laying down the funk if you know what I'm saying. But for what it is it's ok, maybe overpriced or maybe I just don't know how to use it right but fuck it. I will probably buy real outboard synth because a) I want to nerd out with real hardware and b) I fucking love nerding out on hardware.

Audio interface
Got this thing and it works for what I do. I see other audio interfaces for much more money, but I'm not sure if I need to upgrade and if that would change the sound of my tracks or just the signal that goes from my machine to my speakers/headphones that allows me to hear things better, dig it?

Turn me up in the headphones
Yeah so these are the ones I use. I don't have extra $$ lying around to audition other pairs, so these were the ones I got, and they work well. Feel good even after hours of producing, and sound amazing. So good though that they might deceive you. Check out your mix on your KRKs, or in the car, or on the laptop speakers...

Ableton
I always want to spell it Abelton. It's the only DAW I've ever used. The native synths and sample sounds are terrible so I buy all the plugins and sample packs that everyone else buys. But work flow wise it's all I know, and I never had enough bread to buy a Mac or I'd probably use Logic. But in the end it's about making music and so it's a love hate relationship. I love Ableton when I make a track I love. I hate Ableton when I realize I'm a talentless hack.

KRK's baby!
These sound clear and have a decent bass response, though I find myself producing on headphones 99% of the time. I have the white casing vs. black. Look awesome and the yellow cones are so distinctive.
