Greco EG500 or lower, any year after 1977 (these are great value guitars if you don't care about tiny details and just want a wicked player with great tone out of the case
I think I just flipped.
This is from 1978, pre-lawsuit by the looks of the headstock.
There's also thus: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Greco-Super-Power-LPC-EG500C-1980-/121703176614?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c561319a6
Very cheap, also pre-lawsuit, but I don't know those pickups.

My God, that was more work than was necessary.
He has a GVT amplifier, but the SVT Bass Combo is unknown. There was none in the picture, and Mike did not specify. So, until I see a picture with Mike's Ampeg bass combo, I cannot make a submission.
EDIT: http://equipboard.com/items/ampeg-svt-cabinets
This... Ampeg makes multiple models of SVT cabinets. I'm sure that the pros that use it have specified in some way what type of amp they use, but this is disagreeable.

I've been thinking about getting a new guitar from some time now. I've been doing a lot of research, but I was hoping for a third-party opinion. I play in a church band, but don't let that fool you too much. We're like a diluted rock band of a sort, but I'm their wildcard mainly because I'm the newest electric guitarist, next to just two others.
SO!
Here's what's going on: I am working off of a $500 budget. That said, I plan on getting a job so I can save up more. However, if I do save up, my limit would be $900, and $1000 is pushing it because I don't believe I'm good enough to have a high-end guitar past $1000.
I've been using double-humbuckers ever since I started out, so the sound of the sparkly singl-coils has really alienated me, thus I'd prefer warm humbuckers that don't might go full-metal, but are meant for pushing like that. Les Paul's are what I've been looking at, but the Gibsons are ridiculously overpriced. Epiphone has a few nice guitars, but like I said, I need a third-opinion.
Also, telecasters are nice. I was dead-set on this (for the HH design): http://www.fender.com/guitars/telecaster/special-edition-custom-telecaster-fmt-hh/0262000561.html#start=1
However, the Pearly Gates humbucker doesn't sound very appealing. Not sure, though. Seymour Duncan makes it sound pretty terrible. Southern Rock? Not really, but I could be wrong. Also, a normal tele would be fine, but I'd prefer a humbucker on the bridge.
Finally, I have a few Les Pauls that appeal, here are the links: http://www.ebay.com/itm/301683021986?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/181802726141?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT The first is an EPIPHONE Les Paul Classic-T. The other is a GIBSON Studio Les Paul.
SG's are also pretty good, however I'd never buy a red SG. Can't imagine why. I took a look at this, though: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Epiphone-SG-G-400-Limited-Edition-Custom-Shop-Silverburst-No-Reserve-/301689185568?
And then there's this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221825072239?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Because for some screwed up reason, I love that seven string. I want it so bad, but that extra string would be useless to me.
Final note on humbuckers. From what I hear, the Seymour Duncan '59 is a lovely pickup to use. Jonsi of Sigur Ros, and frankly, that's good. My work in ambient guitar has improved a lot, so I need pickups that can really fit a dark humbucker that can really push the distortion. Cleans are also important, which is why the bridge pickup is still unknown to me.

Definitely agree. I've had my fair share of forums, and it would be nice to see a new Pinterest-style forum that's organised :D

Yeah, those aren't great. Are they correct? Can that gear be spotted in the photo on the linked source page? If so, I'm happy to go in and edit it. Not specifically in the photo, but in this interview, titled "Royal Blood's Mike Kerr talks power duo rocking".
http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/royal-bloods-mike-kerr-talks-power-duo-rocking-600211
Quote from the interview: "Sorry, man. The amps I use are all Ampegs. I use an SVT bass amp and two GVT guitar amps. I just found that they aren't making the GVTs anymore, so if you know anyone who's got some, let me know – I need some spares." -Mike Kerr
If you'd like, I can make a new submission in the correct manner, and you can just delete those two old submissions.

Look, I think you misunderstood me, and if not, please correct me. I'm not bagging on the mods for not doing their work, I know they are because I can see on the feed. But people like 23tmr or taylor1317 seem to get there submissions either put on hold, or accepted at a very swift pace.
The only problem is I'm still new here, and because of that, I don't think I have too much of a right to argue this point, so I'll stop here. I'm sure I'll be proven wrong in due time.
EDIT: "Nearly 1000 submissions have been approved in the last week"
Is this normal for this site, or is EB having a sudden burst of submissions and/or members?

It can be denied, but no one seems to be doing that.
You know what, have you noticed that the moderators seems to be extremely biased about accepting submissions? It's not all, actually it's austinmw and miggityfriggity. They keep accepting submissions from a few people REALLY quickly, and everyone else still need their submissions reviewed. It really bothers me, and I've been holding this in for some time.
At least Boom acts like a human and talks. Haven's seen Sims or gchiaren in some time, though. All the other moderators look like they haven't been on the site for some time.
I'm sorry, that rant was uncalled for...

The switch is a coil-splitter that was used on the previous pickups. The splitter worked for one pickup, but the pickup's sound would lower significantly when splitting. When I got the pickups changed, they just rewired it as a killswitch.
"Accurate Bolt-On System"
I live in California, which is a shame. I had thought about rebuilding this guitar, but everyone tells me it would be better to simply buy a new one.

Wait here it is: http://i.imgur.com/r5Ssq5L.jpg
The switch was for splitting, but It's on kill, and the tremolo bridge is the same. Messed up to hell.

Don't people say you can tell the age of a guitar by its serial number? I just remembered and I checked the number: 4082784. I think 82' would be the year it was made...?

I have this really old Aria Pro II guitar. It's an RS Ina-Zuma V. I had to replace a lot from it, though. It's been falling apart so I'm rebuilding it. The old catalogs are incorrect in the info for this guitar, so I can't don't know anything except the following.
It had two double-coil humbuckers that you could split, but one of them was broken. I've had to replace them, but the pickups I'm using now are crap, which is why I'll need to buy a new guitar. Thge tremolo says ACT-3. I've never heard of it, but it seems to be some sort of Floyd Rose knock-off that became a fixed bridge with a hole in it. It doesn't even move, and the tremolo arm is missing.
The whole thing is black, and I don't even know what woods were used to make it. It looks like a $400 guitar, but I can't even be sure.
I think it was pre-80's, but I can't be sure.

You can't, that's something that the moderators can do, so you'll have to wait for them.

Turns out the camera was a douche and made me think that was Adam's. Needs to be removed.
One other thing, I've noticed that many artists aren't aligned to their appropriate bands.
Also: http://equipboard.com/pros/mark-smith
Mark Smith is the guitarist from Explosions in the Sky.
Edit: Case in point: http://equipboard.com/pros/tom-cowan He's the bassist and keyboardist of the Horrors.

You guys might want to fix this...
I know what you mean, It's happening to me a lot, I'm surprised some artists here are blank, when their gear can be seen everywhere.
Sorry, but I'm having trouble finding this thread. Perhaps it got buried by times and other threads?

You guys might want to fix this...
From the Royal Blood Facebook page: "Members: Michael Kerr - Bass/Vocals Ben Thatcher - Drums"
From Equipboard: Royal Blood Members: Jason Leach No gear added Brock Ginther No gear added Michael Brierley No gear added
Yet, Michael and Ben are on Equipboard and have gear, but they're not assigned to Royal Blood.

Noted. Thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind on my submissions.
EDIT: Actually, I had a reason. I noticed when comparing the two, the TU-2 has faded lettering, the other of which is more vibrant. I never thought of led-bulb size, thought. Like I said, noted.

uber pro is a bunch of bunk! stock photos, no years specified for guitars and amps... AND NO USER REVIEWS!
Haha, you're right about that. Though, the comments count for something, eh? Random people saying "I though [insert musician] had [insert gear]?"
Uber still has a lot going, though, so, if anything, we should get going with the app. Imagine if it had a feature that can snap photos and upload to artists as gear photos, eh?

OK, so I tried doing a private message, but I don't belive EB supports such a concept.

CLOSE contender to being the biggest. Except we're up against UberproAudio. They're very complete with who has what, but it doesn't look like they cite sources, so they make me very skeptical, even if they are accurate.

In reply to Ronny, I'd like to just second your forum idea. Gearslutz is a mess, but these forums aren't any different, there's no order. Topics just get thrown on a list, and the OCD in me wants to fix that. UG certainly knows what's going on with there forums.
Sure, the UG forums seem a little basic and messier, but It's a lot better than that list of topics we have now.

Couldn't you just log in, though? You have an account.
I'm sure the creators of this site were going for more members and put that there for that reason, kind of like Pinterest. you can't view anything on there until you make an account. Thank Equipboard that it doesn't block the entire page.
