Cheap Pitch Shifting? (Pitch Box vs. Pure Octave (Mooer))
I edited your topic to remove all CAPS and twenty question marks. It might help in getting someone to make a recommendation on a pitch shifter.

DIY baffle advice (asking for), best acoustic foam tiles, placement ...
I'd love a good DIY solution myself.

Joey Bass had a wiring diagram up a while back, but it looks like he's taken it down. Might try emailing him if you can't figure it out. This is where it used to live:

You might want to post your question in the Guitarist forum. It seems out of place in an electronic music forum.

*Edit: I've moved it for you.

What? What do you mean? What are you asking me to explain? Also, is biggest post a contest or something? I'm confused here.
I for one thought your post was funny. Sending out an ? S.O.S.

I think the MPD26 has a better feature set and offers a lot more control than the MIDI Fighter. I'd go with the MPD.

I'm new to guitar. How do I go about picking strings?
Thanks for the great responses! Looks like I'll be making a trip to my local music store this weekend. :)

I bought my Telecaster used and I'm not sure what kind of strings it came with. One of them snapped on me and it's time to get some replacements.
Ultimately, I'd like to try a variety of different strings to see what I like. But I'd love a little guidance from more experienced guitarists on where I might want to start on string selection.

Please allow me to introduce my Soundcloud, its a site of wealth and taste...
Nice! I think you did a great job of capturing the sound of that time.

Digging the synthpop stuff on your Soundcloud. Nice sound! For the song titles that are dates, were those recorded in those years?
11yabout 11 years ago
A buddy of mine has had one since the mid 90's, he's never a problem with it overheating. It's a cool synth, especially for the prices you can find them for now. Make sure the keyboard fix (hardwiring) has been done, if you're considering a purchase.

I've never heard an LEM mixer before.
It's listed on your Equipboard as something you have. How does it sound to you?

We now have BANDS! Post questions/concerns/corrections here
Paul Gray (#2) needs to have the following bands added to his page. Slipknot - Roadrunner United -Reggie and the Full Effect
Rex Brown needs to have these bands added to his page. Kill Devil Hill - Crowbar - Rebel Meets Rebel
the Page for Reginald Arvizu needs to have the stage name "Fieldy" incorporated into his name somewhere. A lot of fans are not going to know his real name.
Done! Thanks for pointing these out.
11yabout 11 years ago
Absolutely! It looks like they meet most, if not all, of the requirements for being added.

I found this Best Books for DJs and Producers post really helpful. The Mixing Secrets for the Small Studio book is essential reading, whether you're just getting started or have some experience. I think it may even be available online for free as a PDF.

Wow, you put in some work! I'll help you tackle some of these this weekend. Nice to have another MBV fan around. :)

Has anyone tested Bang Olufsen h8 (wired connection because sounds better than bluetooth )?
Hi Alin!
If you haven't already seen it, you might find this headphones guide helpful in your search.
I haven't tried the headphone models you mention, but I've had good experience with other Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser models in the past.

Your Top 5 or 10 Most Manufactured Artists
Probably this robot lady, because she's being manufactured during the video:

Or this monkey, because he's clearly made of surplus parts:

I love them both.

Probably not, but who cares? It's all subjective. Create something you think is better and share it with the world, man.

If you could play guitar like anyone, but still be you, who would you choose?
I'd love to be able to play bass like Les Claypool or Bootsy Collins. They've got so much funk it hurts.

If we're talking hardware, I'm a fan of the Roland RS-09 for dedicated string duty. Unlike a lot of vintage analog gear, the prices are still pretty reasonable for these (you can find one around $250 if you hunt). There's two versions, but the sound on both is the same.
Why do I like it? Take a listen:

Accounts can be converted from a member to a pro artist. So when I'm blowing up and people are clamoring to submit gear to my Equipboard, I'll request that my account be converted. :)
I wouldn't worry about the pro distinction in the meantime, it just lets other people add stuff to your Equipboard. It is interesting to see what each other use and how we use what we have though– so I'd add your gear to your Equipboard, add notes about how/why you use the things you do, and make it public.
Hope that helps!

Hey Sajtrix, check out our guidelines on adding an artist as a pro:
http://equipboard.com/pros/new/terms
The main difference between a pro and community member page is that anyone can add gear to a pro page, which is why we make it a requirement that the artist be influential/notable.
I'm a musician, but adding myself as a pro wouldn't make sense since I don't have a fan base that would have an interest in adding the gear I use. It makes more sense for me to just add it to my own page as a member of the community.

Thanks! :)
That definitely looks like the Boss RC-50. I just read this review about the Boss RC-50 and now I'm really interested in knowing what the differences between the Boss RC-50 and the Boss RC-505 are.
Do you have any experience with either? Maybe I should see if that guy wants to chime in?

I was wondering what kind of looping pedal DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist use. If found a picture of Cut Chemist with his pedal, but I'm not sure what it is. Is this a Boss pedal?

When Equipboard started we allowed people to submit any type of gear to any type of person – actors, musicians, chefs, athletes, etc. Over time, we learned that most people were interested in contributing information to musician pages. We've since shifted the focus of Equipboard to only musicians and the gear they use.
You're right. Equipboard isn't about much of the stuff on that page now.
The categorization change we recently made was our first step towards moving away from cataloging the offending items on the page you referenced. It'll be an ongoing process getting them removed, but it's something we're actively working on.
Thanks for caring enough to call us out on this!

Can anyone help ID this Rio guitar used by Django Reinhardt?
http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/aksyonoff/10500295/55447/55447_original.jpg
It's a guitar made by German luthier Karl Schneider. I found a pretty decent photo of one that might be a good match for a product photo, but wanted to see if it's the correct model guitar before submitting. Here's that photo:

Hi, and welcome to Equipboard!
Here's a list of ways to earn GearIQ: http://equipboard.com/about/geariq
11yover 11 years ago
Ah, I see. You're talking about pulling in most recent 6-10 vs. an option to embed select tracks. If that was the approach, that would definitely be the way to go.
11yover 11 years ago
Embedding Soundcloud tracks isn't planned at the moment, but it's certainly not out of the questions for the future. It would be cool to hear the sounds people are making with their gear.
I'm curious, why would you limit the number of tracks to 6-10?
