Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock)'s Guitars
According to the article It was Ad-Rock's very first guitar. It had a now rare House Of Pain sticker on it, because they toured wth The Beastie Boys. He smashed it on July 4th, 1992 in Italy.
"Ad-Rock always liked to play cheap guitars live on-stage, including a Hondo, while in the studio it was usually the Paul by Gibson"
Ad Rock has been loyal to old Hondo guitars and often used the one his mother first got him as a teenager. In the sabotage live on Letterman he can be seen playing a Hondo H-77 HSS strat copy. This had been mistakenly identified as a fender Strat previously but the Hondo logo can clearly be seen on the headstock throughout the video particularly at 2:32.
Ad-Rock can be seen here playing a 1963 Gibson Melody Maker Double Cutaway guitar onstage at Live Earth at Wembley Stadium in 2007. The guitar was used primarily on the song "Sabotage"
Adam can be seen using his Fender Jazzmaster at their performance in Glasgow, Scotland. The Jazzmaster is seen at 22:19, a slight glimpse at 42:27, and a few clips starting at 45:17.
Adam Horovitz, also known as Ad-Rock, is confirmed to use the Guild Starfire I SC, identifiable in a provided image where he is seen playing the instrument. The distinctive features of this semi-hollowbody electric guitar, such as its pickups, pickguard, and sunburst color, firmly establish its identification as a Guild Starfire I SC.
In this photo, Horovitz is seen alongside Adam "MCA" Yauch at the "Get Out and Vote" tour 2008 playing a Fender Telecaster.
