Blake Schwarzenbach
Blake Schwarzenbach's Guitars
In this photo, Blake appears to be using left-handed Gibson Les Paul Standard in Ebony finish, with white pickguard. The pickup in neck position is what appears to be Bill Lawrence L-500 (or L-500XL), and the pickup in bridge position is stock.
This left-handed silver Ibanez RG560 was used by Blake Schwarzenbach at the very beginning of his career with Jawbreaker - i.e. circa March 1989 - to the recording of their debut album "Unfun", their first tour in support of "Unfun" - "Fuck '90 Tour" and eventually to their brief breakup. The most distinctive feature of it were stickers plastered all over the body. Most of the parts (if not all) have remained stocks. It is not known what has exactly happened to this guitar after Blake switched to Gibson.
Blake used this borrowed left-handed Fender Stratocaster in Sunburst finish with black pickguard for a very limited amount of time on European leg of Hell Is On The Way tour in 1992. It appears to have a CBS-shaped headstock.
"...because I broke my guitar in Oslo, in Norway, a few days ago, in half! So this is a kinda new guitar," Blake reflects on this incident at 12:56 mark in the video.
Used on Dear You, as well as his other projects Jets To Brazil, Forgetters, and The Thorns of Life. Continues to be used for Jawbreaker.
Blake got this guitar in 91, before the recording of Bivouac and it was used during its recording and then later on the tour of it, used up until the recording of 24 Hour Revenge Therapy
