In this article Chicane talks about the JP-8000: “It’s a good synth which enables warm pad sounds. Also use it as a MIDI controller to play a host of software synths"

In this article Chicane talks about how he uses the Nord Stage: "I use this heavily with a couple of Roland SH-101 units." An image shows it is the Stage EX Model.

In this interview with Muscradar, Chicane says "In terms of synths, I naturally tend to gravitate towards software versions of classic gear like the ARP 2600, the 101 and the Prophet, because I'm used to how they work and I know what sort of sounds they're capable of."

In the pictures of this article showing Chicane's Modena 1 studio, the Clavia Nord Lead keyboard can be seen on the wall. The arrangement of the buttons in the bottom-right corner of the knob-area rule out its successor, the Nord Lead 2.

In the pictures of Chicane's Modena 1 studio, the Studio Electronics SE-1 is visible in the middle of the right rack on the floor. The Studio Electronics synth can be identified by the prominent waveform selection buttons in the middle of the synth and the arrangement of the knobs. Since no "SE-1X" label is visible on the right rack-ear of the synth, it cannot be the SE-1X.

In the pictures of Chicane's Modena 1 studio, the Clavia Nord Rack 2 can be seen on the desk between the keyboard and screens. In the bottom right corner the Clavia Nord Rack 2 has a row of three buttons, whereas the similar-looking Nord Rack 1 has only two buttons in this position. It could potentially be a Clavia Nord Rack 2X, but the seemingly warmer colors of the panel print on the picture and the release date of the Nord Rack 2X, are strong hints towards the plain Nord Rack 2.

In the pictures of Chicane's Modena 1 studio in the article, the Roland SP-700 can be seen at the top of the right rack on the floor. It's display is clearly visible, which is further right compared to the Roland S-750 (or S-770?) below it. When tuning the brightness of the picture you can make out the buttons and rotary knob on the right side of the display. This rules out any other devices with a similar display at this position, such as the Korg Wavestation A/D or Yamaha TG-77.
