In the pictures of Chicane's Modena 1 studio in the article, the Roland SP-700 can be seen at the top of the right rack on the floor. It's display is clearly visible, which is further right compared to the Roland S-750 (or S-770?) below it. When tuning the brightness of the picture you can make out the buttons and rotary knob on the right side of the display. This rules out any other devices with a similar display at this position, such as the Korg Wavestation A/D or Yamaha TG-77.
David Bergeaud confirmed his use of the Roland SP-700 Sampler by listing it among his synthesizers on eBay, highlighting its involvement in his game projects. Additional context can be found in the Facebook group post by Ratchet & Clank fans.
