He plays Hello Kitty Squier.
Like, I bought the Manley Massive Passive, and it was beyond my skill set. The set frequencies were such that I couldn't figure it out. I just wanted one that said low, middle and treble, and maybe a sweepable mid.
I work with Waves extensively, and they've been very kind in providing me tools, and I work with Spitfire Audio, and they provided me with a bunch of plug-ins for the orchestral demos. I purchased Omnisphere, which I use a lot, and Ableton, which I use a ton, and I have the Push 2, which I not only have live, but I actually did a lot of the writing of Empath with that; a great system." Less is more, he concludes. "Gear — it's sexy, and I think people fetishise gear. But I found that the less gear I have, now, the less options I have, the more I'm able to articulate what it is that I want, quicker.

You can see that he uses Axe-Fx Ultra . He states he preferes it to Axe-Fx II : "Then all of a sudden I went in with Fractal and I used their product, the Axe-Fx, and there’s nothing else I need. It’s as simple as that. Live, I run it direct to the board, studio I run it direct to the board. It took me a year to get a sound I was satisfied with. I just received the Axe Fx II and it’ll probably take me another year to get to the point where I’m 100% satisfied with that, but it’s the end of the rainbow for me. In a lot of ways it’s disappointing because I used to like going on Harmony-Central.com and looking up tons of vintage, old stupid amps. "

"Great tuner from TC Electronic. If you hit all the strings it tells you which ones are out of tune.
"Which is great if you aren’t in an open tuning like me, so we use it as a standard tuner because that special function does fuck all for me. But it’s really cool."
