In the attached link, it is stated that, "..Otis Rush said Earl Hooker was the first person he had ever seen playing a Stratocaster into a tweed Bassman amplifier." It is not specified as to which Bassman was used, other than a tweed style, but this is close to the time period.
On the cover of "Play your guitar Mr. Hooker" Earl is using a double necked Danelectro. It is also emblazoned with his Earl Hooker labels.
