Fredrik Thordendal

Swedish luthier Fredrik Nevborn made this guitar for both Fredrik Thordendal and Marten Hagstrom. On the source photo, Fredrik Thordendal (right) is seen holding it. However, he quickly abandoned this model due to its poor intonation.

During Meshuggah's performance at the 2018 Download Festival, Fredrik Thordendal can be seen playing an Ibanez ARZIR28 8-string guitar, as shown in a video by Chris-O Thirteen on YouTube.

Fred has an Ibanez LA custom shop stoneman in his live rig. This differs slightly from his sig. It has a 27" scale, and true tempered frets. like his sig the guitar has Lungrin m8 pickups, and a push/pull coil split

In the official music video for "Demiurge" by Meshuggah, Fredrik Thordendal can be seen playing the Ibanez M80M, his signature model.

In this image, Fredrik Thordendal shows off a 1978 Ibanez IC400AV in its case, which based on the caption was presumably sent to him by Ibanez’s custom shop. It is unlikely he uses this with Meshuggah as it is only a 6 string, and it’s more feasible that this guitar is no more than just a part of his collection.

You can see Fredrik playing his taped-up 90s Ibanez UV7 at around 2:31. This was one of Fredrik's main 7-string guitars before he switched to using 8 strings.
