Bob Casale can be seen with it in the "Whip It" video, but I can't tell if it's on any Devo recordings

During the 1981 and 1982 Devo tours, Jerry used a custom double-decker Minimoog for his synth bass which was controlled by an external keyboard. Ever since late 2012, Jerry has used a Roland Gaia SH-01 virtual analog for his synth bass.

Jerry used a Korg TR-61 for synth bass from 2007 to late 2012. The TR-61 replaced both Jerry's and his brother Bob Casale's aging Roland D-50s, which they had been using since 1988.

Jerry used a Minimoog for his synth bass during the 1980 Freedom of Choice tour.

During an interview with Tape Op magazine in 2010, Jerry states; "We loved the sound of the Wasp and we were so excited about the Wasp that, in a suicide move, we used them onstage during the Duty Now for the Future tour. As soon as any drip of sweat from my head or hands hit this thing, it'd go 'Bleewwwdawablawdwa!' I wouldn't be touching it, and it would be playing. Everybody on stage would be looking at me and I'm like, 'But I'm not playing it.'"

In the official video for "Time Out For Fun" by DEVO, Jerry has a Roland SH-101 with the keytar grip attachment slung over his shoulder to pantomime the song's synth bassline
