Jay Jay Pistolet's Gear
Eastwood Guitars label Justin Young as an artist that plays this guitar. This can be seen during the "Live Session" / "Live Performance Video" for the songs 'Put It On A T-Shirt' and 'Nightclub' for the 2018 album 'Combat Sports'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4M7ydmvTzg - Put It On A T-Shirt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lpr7PPZcVs - Nightclub
Justin was seen in several 2011-2012 performances using a red Danelectro Dead On '67.
In a photo shared by The Vaccines on Instagram, Jay Jay Pistolet is seen playing a 1983 Rickenbacker 330 Jetglo. Typically, he opts for a white Rickenbacker 330.
"What about the RC-30 Loopstation you got recently? I don’t know what’s going to come of it. It’s a new toy. Freddie uses this sort of stuff so I’m playing catch up."
This guitar was used by Justin during the 2017 Festival tour, in the lead up to the Combat Sports tour - as seen in this photo. Although it was not used for the Combat Sports tour, it occasionally appeared at shows as a back-up to the Eastwood Spectrum 5 Pro.
The guitar made a reappearence as part of Justin's side-project, Halloweens. It can be seen being played by Justin at various intervals throughout the music video for Hannah, You're Amazing, released in late 2019.
"You’ve got a keyboard too…? We’ve had a Juno G since the word go… I was doing solo stuff and there was one in the studio. I fell in love with it and for my 20th birthday my parents got me the JUNO and I’ve loved it ever since."
Jay Jay Pistolet has been seen using a Martin DXAE Black acoustic-electric guitar, as evidenced by a user-uploaded photo on Louderthanwar. Initially, this guitar appeared in a customized bright white finish during Justin's 2015 English Graffiti tour, where it was used for live performances of tracks like "Handsome," "Want You So Bad," and "(All Afternoon) In Love." The instrument continued to be a staple throughout the Combat Sports era, notably for "Take It Easy" and "Handsome," with added rhinestones or jewels appearing in later performances.
