John DeDomenici's Bass Guitars
A Lakland bass built for John. It's similar to his Fender Precision bass and it is his favorite bass.
"I love this bass. The only reason I don't play this bass live anymore is because if anything happened to it I would be crushed. They don't make this one like this anymore."
John's primary bass for gigging is his Fender Precision bass that he has modified by switching in a Jazz bass neck.
"The reason I put these jazz bass necks on them is because I have small baby hands and I have to play fast, fast Ska all the time."
Used on the Jeff Rosenstock record WORRY.
"At some point I was like 'I need another bass' cause I just had the Lakland and the Fender - two basses that are basically the same. When we play three-piece I need a real big and scary sound. At the same time, we were on tour and Kevin and Mike kept telling me that I should watch this cartoon, this anime called Fooly Cooly and that I would really like it. There's this alien girl and she fights killer robots with a Rickenbacker."
In a YouTube video titled "Going through my Gear for the Death Rosenstock Band," John DeDomenici showcases his Gibson Grabber Bass, noting that it features a custom Stingray-style neck with pink glitter inlay. Describing it as a "lunatic bass," he highlights its unique and eye-catching appearance.
