Johnny Marr is confirmed to use a Rickenbacker 340, as evidenced by several photographs published by NME in 2022, showing him performing with The Killers using both his Fender Jaguar and the Rickenbacker 340. Additionally, in his book Marr's Guitars, Marr recounts an anecdote where a friend informed him about a Rickenbacker 340 for sale that Marr had previously signed in the 1990s during a promotional tour with his band Electronic. Conveniently, since the seller was located in Canada and Marr's tour with The Killers began in Vancouver, he was able to retrieve the guitar at their first show.
