Justin Pierre's Gear
Justin plays only Telecasters in all three of his projects. For Motion City Soundtrack, he plays two Fender Telecaster Deluxe's in Walnut with the neck pickup removed, the switch removed, and all the pots except one volume, due to the fact he bumps into them as he plays. He also switches out the Fender Wide Range Reissue bridge pickup for a Gibson Burstbucker, but neither Josh Cain or Justin are sure of which one. You can clearly see the humbucker in the bridge is PAF style.
"I'm using a Hiwatt head through the KG cabinet. The guy is actually making me a KG head that sounds like the Hiwatt, so I might end up using all KG stuff."

An AC30 can be seen behind Justin in this old photo. Also, his Fender Telecaster Deluxe reissue.
Justin uses an original Telecaster Custom to record with, as well as in the music videos for the band. He says in his interview with Fender that he has two telecaster's that stay at home and two that come out on the road. This is one of the two that stays at home.
Justin can be seen playing a Marshall JCM 800 with matching Marshall cab.
"There's another one, though, it's mine but he has one, too – it's called the Fuzz Factory by ZVex. Plug right into that pedal and you get the craziest, weirdest, most ear-piercing Flaming Lips-type sound."
"I have this friend at Loud Button, and he makes this pedal called WTF. It's sounds like an Atari videogame. It's almost like having a laser but in the '80s. So it's futuristic in a retro way."
Pierre's clip locks can be found on both of his Telecaster Deluxes
