In Hughes & Kettner official website, they state that Lars has been endorsing Hughes & Kettner since 2005 and is well known for his fluid and aggressive yet sensitive style with a magic mix of classical and bluesy playing.

He plays Hughes & Kettner Switchblade & Coreblade heads and matching 4x12 cabs, and recently also added the GrandMeister 36 to his amp arsenal.

Lars Johansson began using Hughes & Kettner amplifiers after a sound technician introduced him to two models for studio testing. He was impressed by the "wonderful" timbres they provided for both bass and solo performances. Initially, Lars used the Switchblade model extensively before transitioning to the Coreblade. According to Lars, the Coreblade offers a more "brutal" sound with increased gain and voicing control, allowing him to equalize different guitars for consistent sound quality. He also noted that he has never experienced technical problems or valve failures with these amplifiers during tours. Lars Johansson uses the BluGuitar Amp1, as confirmed by its adoption in live performances and recordings on the albums "Sweet Evil Sun" and "Door to Doom," according to BluGuitar's online shop, with information provided by Kai Sonnhalter.
