The MMX reinforcement ring can be seen in the 18"x16" suspended tom in the bottom of the picture. Matt used this kit extensively from 2003 to 2005 touring cycles, which can be seen during the Metallica Summer Sanitarium Tour on Mudvayne's 'All Access to All Things' DVD. This kit also featured in the music video for 'Determined'.
In this picture taken on tour with Audiotopsy, Matt McDonough can be seen playing his Pearl Masterworks drum kit finished in custom 'Tobacco Burst' lacquer. Matt first started playing this kit around 2008 for Mudvayne's album, 'The New Game'. The composition of the shells in this kit (wood, plies, thickness etc.) are standard Reference Series specs, which alter in composition depending on the size of drum. Matt generally is seen playing a kit consisting of the following sizes.. 8"x7", 10"x8", 12"x9", 14"x10" (or 14"x11"), 16"x16", 18"x16" toms and 20"x16" bass drum (DRUM! magazine #107, May 2005). The snare drum used in this picture is a Pearl Reference Brass 14"x6.5" (RFB1465), which is a seamless brass model.
