Pearl Masters Maple Pure (MMX) Shell Pack - Drummer's Review

drummersreview.com

The Pearl MMX Masters Series shell pack impresses with its premium craftsmanship and classic maple sound, featuring 4-ply hand-curated North American Maple shells and Pearl’s innovative R2 Air Tom Suspension System. The kit includes high-quality components like die-cast hoops and Remo heads, contributing to its celebrated tonal quality. However, the steep price tag—over £3,000 for the basic three-piece setup—might deter budget-conscious drummers. While its rich resonance and professional build are attractive, potential buyers should weigh the cost against their needs and other available options. Overall, a solid investment for those committed to top-tier performance.

BeatIt Vintage Test: 90s Pearl Masters MMX Kit | Beatit.tv

beatit.tv

The 90s Pearl Masters MMX drum kit is celebrated for its classic maple sound, characterized by warm, deep toms and a punchy bass drum without the bright "clicky" tone. Its sonic versatility makes it ideal for studio use across genres from rock to jazz. The review highlights the kit's musicality and robust low end, although some may prefer a more vintage sound. Overall, this "modern vintage" kit is a strong choice for those seeking a reliable, studio-friendly drum set with a nod to 90s rock.
