Mike Elizondo's Keyboards and Synthesizers

In an interview with Sound On Sound titled "Producing Eminem & Fiona Apple," Mike Elizondo confirmed his use of the Akai MPC4000. He stated, "On the track 'Timps' I programmed a rhythm on the MPC4000 that I thought would sound cool with Fiona's vocal, and then we layered that with real marimbas, vibes, piano, a whole load of keyboards, and I played Minimoog bass on it. I felt that Fiona's piano parts called for something ethereal." This demonstrates his use of the MPC4000 in the production of Fiona Apple's album.
